브레이크뉴스 임국정 기자 = 여당인 국민의힘 소속 홍준표 대구시장이 "투표의 자유는 투표 포기의 자유도 당연히 포함된다"라며 "당연히 탄핵 투표도 거부할 수 있다"라고 주장했다.
홍 시장은 지난 9일 오후 자신의 페이스북을 통해 "호주처럼 투표를 안 하면 과태료를 부과하는 등 투표를 강제하는 나라는 지구상에 호주 외에는 없는 거로 알고 있다"라면서 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 "박근혜(전 대통령) 탄핵 투표 때 질서정연하게 투표장으로 들어가는 '친박'(친 박근혜)들을 보고 참 어리석은 짓을 한다고 보았고, 노무현(전 대통령) 탄핵 투표 때 '친노'(친 노무현)들은 국회 본회의장을 아수라장으로 만들면서 투표 거부를 했다"라고 설명했다.
이어 "국민이 뽑은 대통령을 왜 국회가 탄핵하냐고 난리 치던 친노들 아니었던가?"라며 "그런 전력이 있는 (더불어)민주당이 탄핵 투표를 강요하는 것 자체가 위헌"이라고 지적했다.
그러면서 "탄핵은 불가하고, 질서 있는 하야를 할 수 있도록 추진하시라. 그건 여야가 합의하면 된다"라고 적었다.
