여기에 더 나아가 탄핵 찬성여부와 관계없이 표결에는 참석해야 한다는 당내 의원들이 목소리는 커지고 있다. 대표적으로 TK출신인 권영진(대구 달서 병) 의원은 14일 탄핵 표결에 참여하겠다고 밝혔다. 다만, ‘탄핵은 반대한다‘고 분명하게 선을 그었다.
그는 브레이크뉴스와 통화에서 “탄핵 표결 참여는 국회의원의 권리이자 의무”라면서 “이번 표결 참여 여부는 지난주와 달리 당론으로 정해진 바가 없다. 당론으로 정해지기 어려운 상황”이라고 당내 분위기를 전했다. 그러면서 “표결에 참여하겠지만 그렇다고 윤석열 대통령의 탄핵을 찬성하겠다는 것이 아니다. 윤 대통령 탄핵의 경우, 내 손으로 탄핵하는 데는 참여할 수 없다. 나는 반대다. 나는 아직도 대통령에게 스스로 선택하고 결단할 시간을 주어야 된다고 본다.”며 탄핵 반대 입장을 분명히 했다.
다만 그는 “대통령이 저렇게 어렵게 되고 우리 여건이 이렇게 국민의 민심을 잃게 된 제일 큰 원인이 김건희 여사의 잘못과 부적절한 처신, 그리고 각종 의혹들을 제때 떨쳐버리지 못했기 때문이라고 생각한다. 그런데 지금 와서 대통령 탄핵을 당할 위기 상황에서도 김건희 문제를 피하려는 것은 있을 수 없는 일이다. 우리 당도, 대통령도 김건희 여사의 의혹에 대해서는 검찰 수사 결과가 국민들에게 미진하다고 생각하면 특검을 하겠다고 이미 약속한 바가 있다. 때문에 나는 김건희 특검법에는 찬성하는 것이 옳았다고 보고 우리 당론을 결정하는 과정에서도 그 얘기를 충분히 했다”고 강조하고 “때문에 나는 김건희 여사를 비호하는 데 찬성할 수는 없다”고 김건희 특검법에는 찬성표를 행사할 것임을 밝혔다. .
권 의원은 한동훈 당 대표에 대하여도 깊은 우려와 비판을 쏟아냈다. 그는 “(탄핵 찬성 당론을) 한동훈 대표가 충분히 대통령과 대화하고 설득하고 이런 노력없이 화내고, 당론을 뒤엎는 것은 당 대표로서는 해서는 안 될 일을 한 것라고 본다.”면서 “어떻게 당 대표가 자기 생각을 가지고 그냥 호떡 뒤집듯이 계속해서 입장을 바꾸고 의원들과 한마디 상의도 없이 탄핵 결정 당론을 뒤집으려고 하느냐. 당 대표는 당과 함께 가야 된다. 죽든 살든 같이 가야지, 자기만 살려고 난파선에서 뛰어내리겠다는 식으로 당을 이끌어서는 안 된다”고 비판했다.
권 의원은 '탄핵안이 가결되지 않겠느냐, 내일 예측을 어떻게 하느냐'는 질문에 대하여는 "한동훈 대표가 탄핵에 반대해 달라고 우리와 저 가까운 사람들에게 호소하지 않는 이상 탄핵은 가결될 확률이 높아 보인다. 만약 그렇게 되면 뭐 사실상 우리 국민의힘 모두가 탄핵 당하는 것이다. 이 정도 오게 된 것까지는 대통령한테 가장 큰 문제가 있었지만은 우리 여권 국회의원들 모두가 공동으로 책임져야 될 것이고, ”그러나 그것이 내란죄라고 단정 지으면서 몰고 가는 것은 신중해야 된다. 대통령이 했던 비상계엄 선언이 내란죄에 해당될지 안 될지는 아직도 법률적인 다툼이 있고, 수사와 재판을 통해서 그렇게 가려져야 될 문제지 이런 여론재판 식으로 몰고 가서는 안 된다.“고 주장했다.
권 의원은 인터뷰 말미에 윤석열 대통령의 담화문에 대하여 "야당이 사실 정권 초기부터 대통령을 대통령으로 인정하지 않고 탄핵을 남발하고, 그리고 각종 발목 잡기를 해서 본인 입장에서는 대통령으로서 하기가 어렵다라고 생각하는 그 답답한 심정은 이해가 간다"면서도 "그러나 아무리 답답하다 해도 비상 계엄이라는 수단을 선택하는 것은 내가 볼 때는 옳지 않았다고 본다. 그 문제는 인내를 가지고 야당과 국민을 설득하고 정치로 해결하고 풀어나가야 될 문제지, 비상 계엄이라는 반민주적인 방식을 선택할 문제는 아니었다고 본다"고 큰 안타까움을 나타냈다.
권영진 의원의 탄핵 표결 참여 의사는 TK지역 다른 국회의원들에게도 자극제가 될 것으로 보인다. 또 다른 TK 의원은 당 소속 의원들의 14일 표결 참여 및 찬반 여부에 대하여 “내일 의총이 열려 봐야 알겠다”며 “대통령이 조기 및 질서 있는 퇴진을 수용하지 않겠다고 밝히면서 당내 의원들 사이에서 다양한 의견이 일어나고 있다. 두 가지 경우의 수가 모두 물거품이 되면서 우리 당은 최악의 상황을 피해야 하는 상황이 됐는데, 의총에서 반대 당론과 표결 불참을 당론으로 가져갈지, 탄핵은 반대하지만 표결 참여는 당론화 하지 못할지 등 여러 이야기가 오갈 것으로 보인다. 다만, 표결 참석을 하지 말라고 하더라도 이미 지난 주 3명이 이탈했고 이제까지 의견을 나타낸 의원들이 10여명이 넘는 상황을 두고 보면, 지도부가 납득 가능한 제시안을 내놓지 못한다면 참석 불가를 내세우더라도 당 방침대로 되기는 쉽지 않을 것”이라고 전망했다.
