브레이크뉴스 노보림 기자= 검찰은 중국에서 들여온 시계를 국내산으로 속여 판매한 주얼리업체 제이에스티나 대표 등 임직원 5명을 불구속 기소했다.
서울동부지검 형사5부(부장검사 한문혁)는 김유미 제이에스티나 대표와 영업부장 등 5명과 법인 제이에스티나를 대외무역법 위반 혐의로 지난달 5일 불구속 기소했다고 2일 밝혔다.
또한 김기문 제이에스티나 회장과 본부장 등 임직원 5명에 대해선 약식기소했다.
이들은 지난 2017년부터 2023년까지 중국에서 손목시계 약 12만개를 싼값에 들여와 국산인 것처럼 판매한 혐의를 받는다.
아세톤을 사용해 중국 시계에서 '메이드 인 차이나' 표기를 지우고 시계를 조립, 국내산인 것처럼 속여서 판매한 것으로 전해졌다.
제이에스티나는 또한 다른 공장에서 납품받은 손목시계를 직접 생산한 것으로 조달청을 속인 혐의도 받고 있다.
이들은 2023년 자사 공장에서 직접 생산한 것으로 증명서를 발급 받았지만 실제로는 다른 회사 제품을 조달청에 납품한 것이다.
이에 검찰은 김기문 대표에게 판로지원법 위반 혐의도 적용했다.
한편, 제이에스티나는 1988년 설립된 ‘로만손’이 전신으로 손목시계와 핸드백 등을 판매하는 기업이다. 김 회장은 중소기업중앙회 회장도 맡고 있으며 김유미 대표는 김 회장의 장녀다.
