한국의 민주주의가 엄청난 위기에 봉착했다. 헌법의 기본 원리인 삼권분립의 이상이 허물어진다. 소수파에 대한 하등의 배려도 없는 의회독재에 집행권이 합쳐지고, 여기에 사법권의 대부분도 따라서 간다. 우리 헌정사에서 일찍이 볼 수 없었던 무시무시한 권력의 집중을 눈앞에 두고 있다. 이것은 바로 ‘헌법의 파괴’를 의미한다.
이를 모면하기 위해서 무엇이 필요할까? ‘민주주의를 위한 대연대’밖에는 없다. 단일화를 반드시 해야 한다. 여기에 반대하는 사람은 민주주의를 위한 대의를 희생하고 소아에 집착하는 것이다. 대선패배로 민주주의가 파괴되어도 국민의힘 당권을 차지하면 그만이라는 얄팍한 계산을 하고 있다.
백척간두의 위기상황에 처하여 한국의 정치인이 꼭 갖추어야 할 자격에 관하여 생각한다. 먼저 나라와 사회를 생각하지 못하고 자신과 추종자만을 우선시하는 정치인, 구체적으로 말하자면, 지금의 상황에서 단일화의 대업을 거스르고자 하는 정치인은 우리가 반드시 골라내어 버려야 한다.
그리고 온갖 쌍욕을 몸에 치렁치렁 달고 다니는 사람도 정치인으로 부적격이다. 알량한 변호사 자격 하나 가졌다고 세상을 다 얻은 것처럼, 작은 이해관계라도 걸릴 성 싶으면 무지막지한 욕설로 덮어버리는 사람은 일고의 여지도 없이 바로 쓰레기통에 버려야 한다. 인간으로서 갖추어야 할 최소한의 양식과 교양이 없는 무례하고 뻔뻔한 사람이 어찌 정치의 현장을 휘젓고 다니려 하는가?

Korean democracy is facing a huge crisis. The ideal of the separation of powers, the basic principle of the Constitution, is collapsing. The executive power is combined with the parliamentary dictatorship that has no consideration for the minority, and most of the judicial power is also included. We are facing a terrifying concentration of power that we have never seen before in our constitutional history. This means the ‘destruction of the Constitution.’
What is needed to avoid this? There is no other way than a ‘grand alliance for democracy.’ Unification is absolutely necessary. Those who oppose this are sacrificing the cause of democracy and obsessed with pettiness. They are making the shallow calculation that even if democracy is destroyed by the defeat in the presidential election, they will be satisfied if they take power in the People Power Party.
Faced with a crisis that is on the brink of collapse, I think about the qualifications that Korean politicians must possess. First, we must weed out politicians who do not think about the country and society and only prioritize themselves and their followers, specifically, politicians who want to go against the great cause of unification in the current situation.
Also, people who wear all kinds of curses on their bodies are unfit to be politicians. People who cover up even the smallest conflict of interest with abusive language as if they have the world just because they have a decent lawyer’s license should be thrown into the trash can without a second thought. How can a rude and shameless person who lacks the minimum manners and culture that a human being should have try to stir up the political scene?
