International filmmaker Young Man Kang visited Bilbao from November 6 to 9 to present LA WEBFEST and the Hollywood Series at the 11th Annual Bilbao Seriesland. During his visit, he was interviewed by one of the leading news magazines in the Basque Country while simultaneously filming a new episode of his global spiritual project, the Prayer International Series: Prayer Bilbao.
Basque Country Praised as an Ideal Filming Destination
In his interview with Berria (Euskal Herria), Kang described the Basque Country as an “unbeatable and ideal location” for producing international web‑series, praising its unique landscapes, architecture, and cultural richness.

While attending the Seriesland XI Awards Gala, Kang presented the “SPECIAL AWARD – LA WEBFEST” to the Basque‑language musical web‑series Itsatsita, granting the series official participation in LA WEBFEST 2026. He personally handed the award to Leire Martínez, one of the main actresses of the series.
Martínez is widely known across the Basque Country and Spain as the former lead singer of the acclaimed pop‑band La Oreja de Van Gogh. Now expanding her career into acting, she has also earned strong praise for her role in Itsatsita.

Filming of Prayer Bilbao
Prayer Bilbao is executive-produced by Rose of Dolls and Oliver Mend, who encouraged Director Young Man Kang to create a Camino-themed episode beginning in Bilbao — one of the symbolic starting points of the Camino del Norte.
The episode is co-produced by Sara Mauleón (MauleonPro) and features lead actresses Clara Corral and Aylena Gómez, with supporting actors Jorge González Revilla and Benito Simón.
Filming took place at some of Bilbao’s most iconic locations:
-
Santiago Cathedral, Bilbao
-
Guggenheim Museum Bilbao
-
Louise Bourgeois’s “Maman” Spider sculpture beside the Nervión River
-
The islet of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, with its dramatic cliff-side steps and chapel (famously featured in Game of Thrones)

Synopsis of Prayer Bilbao (Episode 28)
The story follows Elena and her friend Ali as they walk the Camino del Norte pilgrimage. When Elena suddenly feels a spiritual call to abandon the official route and visit Gaztelugatxe’s island chapel, Ali resists, worried she is drifting off path. The two separate.
Elena proceeds alone along the rugged Basque coastline and climbs the long stairway to the cliff-top chapel, seeking clarity and direction. At sunset, Ali returns, choosing to accompany her at last. Together they descend in quiet realization: the pilgrimage is not merely about reaching Santiago, but about listening to the inner call.
Prayer Bilbao will be the 28th episode of the Prayer International Series and will be released soon on YouTube via Young Man Kang’s official playlist:
