10일 영화계에 따르면, 김지미는 미국에서 세상을 떠났다. 한국영화인협회가 협회 주관으로 영화인장을 준비하고 있다.
1940년 충남 대덕군에서 출생한 고인은 1957년 덕성여고 재학 중인 17세, 김기영 감독에게 길거리 캐스팅되며 '황혼열차'(1957)로 데뷔했다. 대표작인 임권택 감독의 '비구니'(1984), '길소뜸'(1985)을 비롯해 700여 편에 출연했다.
고인은 활발한 활동으로 1960~70년대를 대표하는 스크린 스타로 불렸고, 김기영, 임권택 등 당대 최고 감독들과 작업했다. 특히 서구적인 미모와 압도적인 연기로 ‘한국의 엘리자베스 테일러’로 불렸다.
