유럽 순방 중인 이 대통령은 이날 엑스(X·구 트위터)에 “글로벌 에너지 수급이 안정화되고 그간 호르무즈 해협 항행에 제약받아온 한국 선박·선원들 포함한 모든 선박이 조속히 안전 운항을 재개할 수 있길 바란다”며 이같이 적었다.
그러면서 "협상 타결을 끌어낸 트럼프 대통령 리더십과 협상 당사국·관련국들 외교적 노력을 높이 평가한다”며 “대한민국은 국제사회 책임 있는 일원으로 이번 합의가 중동 지역을 넘어 세계 평화·번영에 기여할 수 있도록 필요 지원·협력을 아끼지 않겠다”고 했다.
