청도박물관은 기존 ‘청도알림이센터’를 전면 개편한 ‘기증유물전시실’을 지난 16일 재개관하고 관람객 맞이에 나섰다고 밝혔다.
이번 전시실 개편은 2013년 박물관 개관 이후 지역 문중과 개인 소장가들이 기증하거나 기탁한 유물 가운데 역사적·예술적 가치가 높은 자료를 선별해 공개하기 위해 마련됐다. 이를 통해 지역 문화유산의 의미를 널리 알리고 기증 문화의 가치를 공유하는 공간으로 조성했다.
새롭게 선보이는 전시실은 ‘희시여락(喜施與樂·기쁘게 나누고 함께 즐긴다)’을 주제로 총 4개 전시 구역으로 구성됐다.
첫 번째 전시인 ‘기록으로 남은 청도의 효’에서는 『조선왕조실록』에 기록된 허초흥의 효행과 관련된 정려 현판과 완문 등을 전시해 청도 지역에 전해 내려오는 효 문화와 전통 정신을 소개한다.
‘나눔의 기록, 명예가 되다’를 주제로 한 두 번째 공간에서는 청도 지역의 대표적인 미담으로 알려진 ‘허부자 설화’의 역사적 배경을 살펴볼 수 있다. 대기근 시기 백성 구휼에 나섰던 가문의 분재기와 각종 고문서를 통해 나눔과 상생의 정신을 조명한다.
세 번째 전시 구역인 ‘흙과 먹으로 빚은 시간’에서는 다양한 도자기와 함께 한국 근대 산수화의 대가인 변관식 화백의 사계산수화를 전시해 예술적 가치를 감상할 수 있도록 했다.
마지막 ‘시대를 이겨낸 지혜, 청도 삼학사의 기록’에서는 일제강점기에도 학문과 수양의 길을 이어간 청도 지역 유학자들의 간찰과 서책을 통해 선비 정신과 시대적 의미를 되새길 수 있도록 구성했다.
청도박물관 관계자는 “이번 전시실 개편은 기증자들의 뜻을 기리고 지역사회와 함께 문화유산의 가치를 나누기 위해 추진됐다”며 “소중한 유물을 기증해 준 분들께 감사의 마음을 전하며, 이번 재개관이 지역 내 기증 문화와 문화유산 보존에 대한 관심을 높이는 계기가 되길 기대한다”고 말했다.

This renovation of the exhibition hall was arranged to select and display materials of high historical and artistic value among the artifacts donated or entrusted by local clans and private collectors since the museum's opening in 2013. The first exhibition, "Filial Piety of Cheongdo Preserved in Records," introduces the culture of filial piety and traditional spirit handed down in the Cheongdo region by displaying memorial plaques and official documents related to the filial deeds of Heo Cho-heung recorded in the *Annals of the Joseon Dynasty*.
The second space, themed "Records of Sharing Become Honor," explores the historical background of the "Legend of Heo Buja," known as a representative heartwarming tale of the Cheongdo region. It sheds light on the spirit of sharing and coexistence through the family's property division records and various ancient documents, which documented their efforts to provide relief to the people during a great famine.
The third exhibition area, "Time Crafted with Earth and Ink," allows visitors to appreciate artistic value by displaying the Four Seasons Landscape paintings of Byun Kwan-sik, a master of modern Korean landscape painting, alongside various ceramics. The final section, ‘Wisdom That Overcame the Times: Records of the Three Scholars of Cheongdo,’ is designed to allow visitors to reflect on the spirit of the scholar and the significance of the era through the letters and books of Confucian scholars from the Cheongdo region who continued the path of learning and self-cultivation even during the Japanese colonial period.
An official from the Cheongdo Museum stated, “This renovation of the exhibition halls was undertaken to honor the intentions of the donors and to share the value of cultural heritage with the local community.” The official added, “We express our gratitude to those who donated these precious artifacts, and we hope that this reopening will serve as an opportunity to raise awareness of the donation culture and cultural heritage preservation within the region.”
