【브레이크뉴스 영덕】박영재 기자=영덕군의 대표 여름 스포츠 행사인 ‘제22회 영덕해변 전국마라톤대회’가 전국 각지에서 모인 마라톤 동호인들의 열기 속에 성황리에 막을 내렸다.

영덕군은 지난 14일 열린 이번 대회에 선수와 동호인 등 4,500여 명이 참가해 역대 가장 많은 인원이 함께한 가운데 성공적으로 개최됐다고 밝혔다.
영덕군육상연맹이 주최·주관하고 영덕군과 영덕군체육회 등이 후원한 이번 대회는 동해안의 아름다운 절경을 감상할 수 있는 블루로드 일원에서 진행됐다. 해안 풍광과 함께 달릴 수 있는 코스로 잘 알려져 전국 마라톤 애호가들의 꾸준한 관심을 받고 있다.
올해 대회는 하프코스(21.0975㎞), 10㎞, 5㎞ 등 3개 종목으로 운영됐으며, 참가 신청이 크게 늘어나며 역대 최다 참가 기록을 세웠다. 특히 영덕의 해안 경관과 트레킹 명소를 함께 체험할 수 있다는 점이 참가자들의 호응을 이끌어냈다.
경기 결과 하프코스 남자부에서는 이건희 선수가 1시간 14분 7초의 기록으로 우승을 차지했다. 여자부에서는 정혜진 선수가 1시간 28분 46초를 기록하며 가장 먼저 결승선을 통과했다.
10㎞ 종목에서는 박현준 선수와 허소정 선수가 각각 남녀부 정상에 올랐으며, 5㎞ 부문에서는 문지훈 선수와 안미희 선수가 우승의 영예를 안았다.
박신혜 영덕군육상연맹 회장은 “대회 준비와 운영에 힘을 보태준 자원봉사자와 기관·단체 관계자들에게 감사드린다”며 “참가자들이 영덕의 아름다운 바다를 만끽하며 건강과 소중한 추억을 함께 얻어가길 바란다”고 말했다.
대회장에서는 경기뿐만 아니라 지역 특산물 홍보관과 관광안내 부스, 고향사랑기부제 홍보 행사도 함께 운영돼 참가자들의 관심을 모았다.
영덕군은 이번 대회의 높은 참여 열기를 바탕으로 스포츠와 관광을 연계한 지역 대표 축제로 지속 육성하고, 체류형 관광 활성화와 지역경제 발전에도 활용해 나갈 계획이다.

Yeongdeok County announced that the event, held on the 14th, was successfully organized with the largest turnout in its history, featuring over 4,500 participants including athletes and club members.
Hosted and organized by the Yeongdeok County Athletics Federation and sponsored by Yeongdeok County and the Yeongdeok County Sports Council, the event took place along the Blue Road, where participants could admire the beautiful scenery of the East Coast. This year's competition featured three events: a half marathon (21.0975 km), 10 km, and 5 km. With a significant increase in registrations, it set an all-time record for the highest number of participants. In the 10km event, Park Hyun-jun and Heo So-jeong claimed the top spots in the men's and women's divisions, respectively, while Moon Ji-hoon and Ahn Mi-hee took home the honor of victory in the 5km category.
Park Shin-hye, President of the Yeongdeok County Athletics Federation, said, "I would like to thank the volunteers and officials from various organizations who contributed to the preparation and operation of the competition," adding, "I hope the participants enjoy Yeongdeok's beautiful sea and take home both health and cherished memories."
In addition to the competitions, the venue also featured a local specialty promotional hall, a tourism information booth, and a promotional event for the Hometown Love Donation System, attracting the interest of the participants. Based on the high level of participation in this event, Yeongdeok County plans to continuously foster it as a representative regional festival linking sports and tourism, and to utilize it to revitalize stay-type tourism and develop the local economy.
