이번 간담회는 정례적인 소통을 희망하는 유족들의 건의사항을 적극적으로 반영해 마련됐으며, 향후 전남도와 유족회 간의 지속적인 협력체계를 구축하는 중요한 계기가 될 것으로 기대된다.
이날 자리에는 전남도 주순선 동부지역본부장과 배성진 여순사건지원단장 등 관계 공무원을 비롯해 여수·순천·광양·보성·고흥·서울 등 6개 지역의 유족회장이 참석했다.
간담회에서 전남도는 유족들의 아픔을 보듬고 실질적인 명예회복을 이루기 위한 핵심 현안들을 설명하고 이에 대한 유족들의 의견을 수렴했다. 주요 안건으로는 ▲제78주기 여수·순천 10·19사건 합동추념식 준비 현황 ▲희생자·유족 결정 처리 및 진상규명 조사 추진 상황 ▲희생자·유족 4차 신고를 위한 법령 개정 건의 ▲미신고 희생자 발굴 프로젝트 ▲교육·문화사업 추진 ▲트라우마치유센터 개소 및 운영 계획 등이 다각도로 논의됐다.
