지난 4월 2일 무안군 망운면 일대가 예비이전후보지로 선정된 이후 처음으로 열린 이번 선정위원회에서는 ▲선정위원회 및 선정실무위원회 운영규정(안)과 ▲이전후보지 선정 절차·기준(안) 등 총 2개 안건이 심의·의결됐다. 이로써 향후 군 공항 이전부지 선정을 논의할 명확한 기준과 로드맵이 마련됐다.
이번 선정위원회는 위원장인 안규백 국방부 장관을 비롯해 김영록 전남도지사, 강기정 광주광역시장, 김산 무안군수 등 관련 지자체장과 관계부처 차관(보), 민간위원 등 총 19명으로 구성됐다.
전남도는 이번 의결을 바탕으로 ▲이전후보지 선정 ▲이전주변지역 지원계획 수립 ▲유치 신청 ▲이전부지 최종 선정 등 후속 절차를 법정 기준에 따라 신속하게 추진할 계획이다. 특히 오는 6월 중 이전후보지를 선정하고, 올해 안으로 최종 이전부지 선정을 마무리한다는 목표다.
