Chief Spokesperson Park Sung-hoon strongly condemned the arrogant attitude displayed by the National Election Commission (NEC) during the parliamentary investigation into the ballot shortage crisis of the June 3 local elections and demanded severe legal judgment. Park began by stating, “Although the parliamentary investigation to uncover the truth behind the ballot shortage crisis of the June 3 local elections has begun, the behavior shown by the NEC from the very first day was the very definition of irresponsibility and arrogance.” He fiercely criticized the NEC, saying, “Even after infringing upon the sacred right to vote of the sovereign people, they showed not even the slightest sense of responsibility, but consistently resorted to tricks and excuses to evade accountability.”
He also rebuked the NEC leadership in a passionate tone for their mass absence from hearings.
