7일 (재)영월문화관광재단에 따르면, 오는 17일부터 10월 11일까지 무려 87일간 동강사진박물관, 예술창작스튜디오, 영월문화예술회관 및 영월 시내 일원에서 ‘제24회 동강국제사진제’가 화려하게 펼쳐진다.
동강국제사진제는 명실상부 국내를 대표하는 가장 권위 있는 국제 사진문화 축제 중 하나로, 세계 각국의 저명한 사진작가들과 관람객이 한데 어우러지는 글로벌 문화예술 교류의 장이다. 이번 사진제는 영월을 ‘대한민국 대표 사진 도시’로 널리 알리고 현대 사진 예술의 최신 흐름을 조명하는 동시에, 지역 주민과 관광객 누구나 쉽게 사진 문화를 향유할 수 있는 다채로운 프로그램들로 꽉 채워진다.
행사 기간 동안에는 전 세계 사진 트렌드를 읽을 수 있는 ‘국제 주제전’을 비롯해 ‘국제공모전’, ‘동강사진상 수상자전’, 영월의 고유한 이야기를 담아낸 ‘영월 스토리텔링 사진전’ 등 수준 높은 전시가 잇따라 열린다. 또한 관람객들이 직접 참여하고 배울 수 있는 다양한 교육 및 체험 프로그램도 함께 운영되어 축제의 풍성함을 더할 예정이다.
축제의 서막을 알리는 공식 개막식은 오는 24일 오후 7시, 동강사진박물관 야외광장에서 성대하게 개최된다. 이날 개막식에서는 화려한 축하 공연과 함께 본격적인 전시 관람이 진행될 예정이다.
영월문화관광재단 관계자는 “이번 동강국제사진제가 세계 사진 예술의 다양한 흐름과 매력을 한자리에서 만날 수 있는 세계적인 문화예술 축제로 확고히 자리매김하길 바란다”며, “사진이라는 매개체를 통해 지역 주민과 방문객 모두가 깊이 소통하고 공감하는 뜻깊은 87일이 되기를 기대한다”고 전했다.
