울창한 소나무 숲과 청정 해변이 어우러진 충남 보령의 대표 휴양지 용두해변이 한여름 푸른 정취 속에서 주민과 관광객을 엮는 축제의 장으로 탈바꿈한다.
보령시 남포면은 오는 11일 용두해변 일원에서 지역 고유의 이야기와 자연환경을 버무린 ‘제8회 용두솔밭어울림축제’를 개최한다고 8일 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 단순한 소비형 축제에서 벗어나 지역 주민들이 기획 단계부터 직접 참여해 준비한 주민 주도형 공동체 축제라는 점에서 의미가 깊다.
당일 오후 1시 주민자치 프로그램 수강생들의 열정적인 사전 공연을 시작으로 막을 올리며, 오후 2시부터는 신랑·각시 게임한마당, 어울림 콘서트 등 방문객의 흥을 돋울 본행사가 본격적으로 펼쳐진다.
올해 축제의 핵심은 용두마을에 오랜 세월 전해 내려오는 설화를 현대적으로 재해석한 스토리텔링 콘텐츠다. 방문객들은 용두마을 명소 투어를 즐기거나, 마을 전설을 시각화한 용두설화 전시관 및 포토존에서 이색적인 추억을 남길 수 있다. 이와 함께 개설하는 ‘용두 뷰티 스튜디오’ 역시 축제장을 찾는 이들에게 색다른 즐거움을 선사할 것으로 보인다.
