청와대가 8일(현재시간) "이재명 대통령이 튀르키예 앙카라 나토(NATO·북대서양조약기구) 정상회의 만찬에서 도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령과 만나 군용 선박 건조 후속 협의를 했다"고 전했다.
강유정 수석대변인은 이날 오후 서면 브리핑에서 "이 대통령이 7일(현지시간) 저녁 레제프 타이이프 에르도안 튀르키예 대통령 내외 주최 공식 환영 만찬에 참석해 트럼프 대통령과 조우했다"며 이같이 전했다.
그러면서 "이 대통령은 당시 트럼프 대통령이 요청했던 군용 선박 건조 관련 후속 협의를 가졌다"며 "이 대통령은 트럼프 대통령 요청에 최대 협조하겠다며 우수 선박 제조 역량을 가진 한국 기업들을 소개했다"고 전했다.
