이재명 대통령이 9일(현지시간) 한·몽골 기업인들과 만나 "몽탄 같은 상생 모델을 더 확산시켜 나가자"고 했다.
이 대통령은 이날 저녁 몽골 울란바타르 한 호텔에서 열린 '한·몽골 비즈니스 포럼' 축사에서 "앞으로 만들어가야 할 미래 협력 방향"이라며 이같이 말했다. '몽탄'은 몽골·동탄 신도시 합성어로 한국 편의점·대형마트가 다수 진출해 한국 도심 모습과 유사한 울란바타르를 지칭한다.
그러면서 "한국 유통 기업이 기술·경험을 제공하고 몽골 기업은 직접 투자를 통해 사업을 운영하며 경험을 쌓아간다"며 "몽탄을 한마디로 정의하면 상호 호혜적 협력 모델"이라고 했다.
또 "성과를 더 확산시키려면 공동 물류센터·콜드체인 같은 인프라 확대와 함께 인력 양성·기술 교류 확대가 필수"라며 "유통서 시작한 몽탄 모델은 식품·음료·화장품 같은 K 소비재로 금융·보건의료·교육·AI(인공지능) 등 분야로 더 넓게 확산할 것"이라고 했다.
이어 "한·몽골 협력을 핵심광물 공급망 분야로 넓혀가자"며 "구리·몰리브덴·텅스텐·희토류 등 풍부한 핵심 광물을 보유한 자원 부국 몽골과 기술·자본·물류가 발달한 대한민국이 협력 시 공급망 분야서 확실한 시너지를 낼 수 있다"고 했다.
더불어 "지난해 12월 울란바타르에 문 연 '희소금속 협력센터'가 양국 기업 간 협력·교류 핵심 매개체가 될 것"이라며 "양국 정부서 운영 중인 '희소금속위'를 통해 공급망 협력 성공 사례도 만들어 나갈 수 있길 바란다"고 했다.
