책사랑신문은 7월12일치 보도자료에서 “전문언론인협회의 고문을 맡고 있는 주광태 (주)코라솔 대표이사가 독서발전기금 500만원을 『책사랑신문』에 기부했다”고 소개했다.
책사랑신문은 이 자료에서 “전문언론인협회가 발행하는 독서전문 인터넷매체로 “책사랑 나라사랑”이라는 독서캠페인을 전개하고 있는데, 이번에 주광태 대표가 기부한 독서발전기금은 전국의 ‘작은도서관’에 도서를 기증하는 비용과 독서캠페인 이벤트비용으로 충당된다”고 밝혔다. 문체부가 운영하는 ‘작은도서관’은 각 지역에서 소규모로 운영되는 ‘책사랑방’ 같은 곳으로 전국에 6,700 여 곳이 있다.
주광태 대표는 “초·중·고 학생들이 갈수록 책과 멀어지며 문해력(文解力) 저하가 심각해지고 있는 가운데, 정부가 ‘독서교육’을 국가의 책무로 규정하고 전 교과목에서 독서 활동을 대폭 확대하기로 했다는 기사를 접하고 작은 도움이나마 되었으면 하는 마음에서 기부를 하게 됐다”고 말하고 “1년에 한권의 책도 읽지 않는 사람이 10명 중에 3명이나 될 정도로 독서지수가 낮은 상황에서 독서운동에 동참하고 싶은 마음에서 나서게 됐다”고 강조했다.
독실한 가톨릭신자인 주광태 대표(요한 세례자)는 가톨릭 경제인회 부회장을 맡아 미혼모 공동체와 라파엘 클리닉 후원, 2023 리스본 세계청년대회 및 2027 서울 세계청년대회, 새터민 공동체 후원 등에 앞장서왔는데, 2025년 12월 13일 서울 주교좌 명동대성당에서 교구장 정순택 대주교 주례로 열린 송년 감사미사에서 서울대교구 가톨릭경제인회(회장 윤대인, 담당 황인환 신부)가 주최한 제31회 자랑스러운 가톨릭경제인상 시상식에서 특별공로상을 수상했다. 주광태 대표는 CEO들의 친목모임인 ‘100인리더스클럽’의 고문도 맡고 있다.

In a press release dated July 12, Chaeksarang News reported, “Joo Kwang-tae, CEO of Corasol Co., Ltd., who serves as an advisor to the Association of Professional Journalists, has donated 5 million won to Chaeksarang News as a Reading Development Fund.”
In the statement, Chaeksarang News explained, “As an online media outlet specializing in reading published by the Association of Professional Journalists, we are conducting a reading campaign called ‘Love for Books, Love for Country.’ The Reading Development Fund donated by CEO Joo Kwang-tae will cover the costs of donating books to ‘Small Libraries’ nationwide and expenses for reading campaign events.” ‘Small Libraries,’ operated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, are small-scale local spaces similar to ‘Chaeksarangbang’ (book gathering rooms), with approximately 6,700 locations nationwide. CEO Ju Gwang-tae stated, “As elementary, middle, and high school students increasingly drift away from books and the decline in literacy becomes serious, I came across an article announcing that the government has designated ‘reading education’ as a national duty and decided to significantly expand reading activities across all subjects. I decided to make this donation hoping to provide even a small amount of help.” He emphasized, “I stepped forward out of a desire to participate in the reading campaign, given the low reading index where as many as three out of ten people do not read even a single book a year.” CEO Ju Gwang-tae (John the Baptist), a devout Catholic, has served as Vice President of the Catholic Businessmen's Association and has spearheaded initiatives such as supporting the single mothers' community and the Raphael Clinic, as well as the 2023 Lisbon and 2027 Seoul World Youth Days and the North Korean defector community. On December 13, 2025, during the year-end Thanksgiving Mass presided over by Archbishop Jeong Sun-taek at Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul, he received a Special Achievement Award at the 31st Proud Catholic Businessman Awards Ceremony hosted by the Catholic Businessmen's Association of the Archdiocese of Seoul (President Yoon Dae-in, Presiding Father Hwang In-hwan). CEO Ju Gwang-tae also serves as an advisor to the ‘100 Leaders Club,’ a fellowship group for CEOs.
