송기헌 국회의원(국회 과학기술정보방송통신위원장 · 민주당/강원 원주시을)은 7월 15일(수), 국회의원회관 제2소회의실에서「AI 시대 의료혁신 생태계와 미래도시 전략」포럼을 개최했다.

이어 정종석 산업연구원 명예연구위원은「원주 의료기기산업의 AI·데이터 기반 전환전략」을 주제로 의료데이터 구축, 병원 연계 실증, 규제·인허가, 보험·조달, 기존 기업의 AI 전환과 글로벌 진출을 잇는 추진과제를 제시했다. 정 위원은 “의료기기산업은 AI의 발전과 함께 소프트웨어, 데이터, 서비스를 아우르는 메디테크 산업으로 전환되고 있다”며, “현행 첨단의료복합단지법이 변화한 산업환경을 충분히 반영하지 못하고 있는 만큼, ‘첨복단지 2.0’을 통해 국가 메디테크 정책을 구체화해야 한다”고 역설했다.

고상백 교수는 “기존 첨단의료복합단지의 한계는 사업의 성과가 지역에 잔류하지 않는 것”이라며, “지역의 문제를 명확히 정의하고 역량을 집중할 수 있도록 시민 거버넌스를 구축해 원주만의 차별화된 모델을 만들어야 한다”고 강조했다.
