전남광주통합특별시와 여수시, 2026여수세계섬박람회조직위원회는 지난 17일 여수세계박람회장 디지털갤러리에서 개최된 ‘D-50 기념행사’에 시민과 관광객 등 4천여 명이 참여해 박람회 성공 개최에 대한 기대감을 한층 높였다고 밝혔다.
이날 행사에는 민형배 전남광주통합특별시장, 서영학 여수시장, 박수관 조직위원회 민간위원장과 김진표 명예위원장을 비롯해 지역 국회의원, 지방의회 관계자 등이 대거 참석해 박람회 성공을 위한 결의를 다졌다.
행사는 여수의 365개 섬이 하나로 모여 박람회를 완성해 가는 과정을 담은 오프닝 영상을 시작으로 막을 올렸다. 이어 여수시립합창단과 힙합 댄스팀의 화려한 공연, 박람회 준비 상황 및 추진 경과 보고 영상 상영, 성공 개최 기원 특별 퍼포먼스 순으로 진행됐다.
