범민주진영의 연대와 단결을 모색하기 위한 '촛불빛혁명완성연대 강연 및 발표회, 총회'가 지난 10일 서울시의원회관 대회의실에서 개최됐다.
박유진 서울시의원과 촛불빛혁명완성연대가 공동 주최·주관한 이번 행사는 유튜브 채널 '서울의소리'와 '행운의여신TV'를 통해 생중계됐다.
이날 행사에서는 민주진영의 연대와 통합, 향후 정치적 과제 등을 주제로 강연과 축사, 자유발언이 이어졌다.
행사를 기획하고 사회를 맡은 정영훈 촛불빛혁명완성연대 상임대표는 인사말에서 민주당 당대표 선거를 둘러싼 당내 갈등을 언급하며 "범민주진영이 대의를 중심으로 단결해야 한다"고 말했다. 이어 특정 정파 중심의 대립을 지양하고 연대와 통합을 바탕으로 민주진영의 협력이 필요하다고 강조했다.
축사에 나선 박유진 서울시의원은 과거 민주진영의 선거 사례를 언급하며 단결의 중요성을 강조했고, 백은종 서울의소리 대표는 내부 갈등을 극복하고 포용과 연대를 통해 민주진영이 힘을 모아야 한다고 밝혔다.
이주영 우리헌법읽기국민운동본부 이사장은 헌법 가치 확산과 민주주의 교육의 중요성을 강조했으며, 이광희 전국민주화운동 운영위원장과 이영남 서울시의원 등도 민주주의 가치와 사회적 연대를 주제로 발언했다.
이어진 초청 강연에서 최재영 목사는 민주진영이 전당대회 과정에서 분열을 최소화하고 통합의 리더십을 발휘해야 한다고 말했다. 또한 허위정보와 정치적 갈등을 극복하기 위해 폭넓은 시각과 관용이 필요하다고 강조했다.
자유발언에서는 시민사회와 각계 참가자들이 민주주의와 정치 개혁, 역사 교육, 표현의 자유, 사회 통합 등을 주제로 의견을 제시했다. 참석자들은 민주주의 가치 확산과 범민주진영의 연대를 위한 다양한 제안을 내놓았다.
한편 이날 총회에서는 조직 운영을 위한 임원 선임도 함께 진행됐다. 문화예술위원장에는 강민숙 시인(문학박사)이 선임됐으며, 참석자들은 문화예술 활동을 통한 민주주의 가치 확산과 시민 참여 확대에 힘을 모으기로 했다.
The 'Candlelight Revolution Completion Alliance Lecture, Presentation, and General Assembly,' aimed at seeking solidarity and unity within the pan-democratic camp, was held on the 10th at the Grand Conference Room of the Seoul Metropolitan Council Members' Hall.
Co-hosted and organized by Seoul Metropolitan Council Member Park Yu-jin and the Candlelight Revolution Completion Alliance, the event was broadcast live on the YouTube channels 'Voice of Seoul' and 'Goddess of Fortune TV.'
The event featured lectures, congratulatory remarks, and open discussions on themes such as solidarity and integration within the democratic camp and future political tasks.
Jeong Young-hoon, Standing Representative of the Candlelight Revolution Completion Alliance, who planned and emceed the event, addressed the internal conflict surrounding the Democratic Party's leadership election in his opening remarks, stating, "The pan-democratic camp must unite around the greater cause." He further emphasized the need for cooperation within the democratic camp based on solidarity and integration, while avoiding confrontation centered on specific political factions.
In her congratulatory remarks, Seoul City Council member Park Yu-jin emphasized the importance of unity by citing past election examples within the democratic camp, while Baek Eun-jong, CEO of Voice of Seoul, stated that the democratic camp must overcome internal conflicts and join forces through inclusion and solidarity.
Lee Ju-young, Chairperson of the National Movement Headquarters for Reading Our Constitution, emphasized the importance of spreading constitutional values and democracy education. Lee Kwang-hee, Chairperson of the Steering Committee of the National Democratization Movement, and Seoul City Council member Lee Young-nam also spoke on the themes of democratic values and social solidarity.
In the subsequent invited lecture, Rev. Choi Jae-young stated that the democratic camp must minimize division during the national convention process and demonstrate leadership for integration. He also emphasized the need for a broad perspective and tolerance to overcome misinformation and political conflict.
During the open mic session, participants from civil society and various sectors presented their views on topics such as democracy, political reform, history education, freedom of expression, and social integration. Attendees put forward various proposals for spreading democratic values and fostering solidarity within the pan-democratic camp.
Meanwhile, the election of officers for organizational operations was also conducted at the general assembly held on this day. Poet Kang Min-sook (Doctor of Literature) was appointed as the Chairperson of the Culture and Arts Committee, and the attendees agreed to join forces to spread democratic values and expand citizen participation through cultural and artistic activities.
