홍천군은 지난 18일 홍천 석화정에서 ‘제22회 홍천군수기 강원특별자치도 궁도대회’를 성황리에 개최했다고 20일 밝혔다.

홍천군 체육회가 주최하고 홍천군 궁도협회가 주관한 이번 대회에는 강원특별자치도 전역에서 활약 중인 선수 410명과 임원 80명 등 총 490명의 대규모 인원이 참가해 열띤 경연을 벌였다.

궁도는 예의범절을 중시하는 한민족 고유의 전통 무예이자, 현대인들의 정신 수양과 건강 증진에 탁월한 효과가 있어 꾸준한 사랑을 받고 있는 스포츠다. 이번 대회는 전통 스포츠인 궁도의 저변을 확대하고, 도내 궁도인들 간의 친목과 결속을 다지는 축제의 장으로 마련됐다.
