브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 유시민 작가는 "뉴이재명 그들이 하는 모든 행동 이런 것들이 자칭 '친명'(친이재명)들이 벌이는 난동이 아니고, 집권 직후부터 대통령과 우리가 잘 알지 못하는 어떤 참모들이 기획해서 시작한 것"이라고 주장했다.
유 작가는 21일 유튜브 채널 '2분 News' 인터뷰에서 "그렇게 판단해야만 되는 시점에 왔다. 그러니까 뉴이재명 세력의 수장은 이언주 의원이나 이런 사람이 아니고 이재명 대통령일 가능성이 높다고 저는 판단했다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
뉴이재명 또는 신친명은 대통령 후보자로 올라선 이후부터 형성된 민주당 내외 지지층 및 정치세력을 일컫는 신조어다. 과거부터 오랫동안 지지를 이어왔던 '친명계'와 구분하기 위해 쓰인다.
뉴이재명 세력은 보완수사권 폐지 등 검찰 개혁에 온건한 입장이며 조국혁신당과의 합당 문제도 신중히 접근해야 한다는 입장이다.
유 작가는 민주당 내 검찰개혁 추진 과정에 대한 논란이 일고 있는 것과 관련 "이 모든 것들이 다 대통령이 (검찰의) 수사·기소의 완전한 분리에 반대하기 때문에 생긴 일이라고 저는 판단할 수밖에 없다"며 "대통령은 아직도 포기하지 않았다고 저는 생각한다"고 말했다.
이어 "'대통령이 수사·기소의 완전한 분리에 반대한다, 검찰 수사권을 남겨놓고 싶어 한다'는 가설 말고, 작년 9월 이후 지금까지 검찰개혁 과정에서 벌어진 정부의 모든 행위를 일관되게 설명할 수 있는 어떤 가설이 있나. 저는 못봤다"고 주장했다.
유 작가는 특히 "청와대에선 수사기소 분리에 대한 입장이 한번도 흔들린 적 없다, 대통령도 그런 얘기를 여러번 했고, 원칙적으로 찬성한다는 얘기를 했다면서 사람들은 제가 거짓말을 하고 있다고 한다"면서 "그러나 비평가는 기본적으로 정치하는 사람은 본심을 감춘 말을 할 수도 있다는 전제를 두고, 권력자의 말과 조직의 행동 등 모든 것으로 종합해 텍스트 그 너머에 있는 어떤 것까지 설명할 때 비평이 되는 것이다. 한 6개월 정도를 지켜본 결과 대통령이 시간이 없어서, 또는 다른 데에 집중하느라 그런 것이 아니고 이 모든 일은 다 대통령이 기획한 것일 가능성이 많구나 판단하게 됐다"고 반박했다.
유 작가는 또한 "권력은 필연적으로 부패한다. 그게 우리 인간의 본성이다. 어물전이 아무리 품질 좋은 생선을 갖다가 팔아도 비린내는 마기 마련"이라며 "민주주의가 좋은 점은 서로를 감시하게 만들고, 나쁜 권력자가 나쁜 짓을 마음껏 하지 못하게 하는데 굉장히 유익한 제도다. 어떤 비판도 가하지 않고 제한도 두지 않고 내버려 두면 모든 어물전은 다 썩은내를 풍기게 돼 있다"고 비유했다.
그러면서 "썩은내가 나기 전 빨리 정화해야 된다. 누군가 후각이 예민한 사람이 먼저 말을 해야 한다. 권력 비판에 입을 틀어막으면 그게 권력을 스스로 해치는 길이다. 윤석열 정부가 입을 틀어막은 결과가 내란이었다"고 덧붙였다.
