청와대가 24일 "게이코 후지모리 페루 신임 대통령 취임식에 특사단을 파견한다"고 전했다.
강유정 수석대변인은 이날 오전 서면 브리핑에서 "한·페루 의원친선협회장 더불어민주당 민홍철 의원이 특사단장으로 국민의힘 강민국·민주당 이기헌 의원이 동행한다"며 이같이 전했다.
그러면서 "특사단은 페루 측에 한국 정부 국정 철학·대외정책을 설명하며 페루 신정부와의 포괄적 전략 동반자 관계 발전 관련 대통령 메시지를 친서와 함께 전달 예정"이라며 "후지모리 대통령·외교 장관 주최 리셉션 등에 참석해 국방·안보 분야 협력 심화를 위한 정부 의지도 전달한다"고 했다.
또 "한·페루 FTA(자유무역협정) 기반으로 발전해 온 양국 경제 협력 심화·핵심 광물·인프라 등 분야 실질 협력 확대를 위한 의견을 교환 예정"이라고 덧붙였다.
