이재명 대통령이 24일(현지시간 ) “대한민국은 글로벌 AI(인공지능) 생산기지·혁신 토양이 되면서 세계 기술·자본·인재·아이디어가 연결되는 대체 불가 글로벌 AI 협력 플랫폼으로 도약하겠다”고 했다.
이 대통령은 이날 오후 미국 샌프란시스코 더 미드웨이에서 열린 '샌프란시스코 AI 서밋' 에서 “대한민국은 미래 AI 비전을 먼저 제시하고, 세계와 협력해 인류의 더 나은 미래를 만들어가는 나라가 되고자 한다”며 이같이 말했다.
이 자리엔 이재용 삼성전자 회장·최태원 SK그룹 회장·정의선 현대차그룹 회장·이해진 네이버 의장·젠슨 황 엔비디아 최고경영자(CEO)·샘 올트먼 오픈AI CEO·다리오 아모데이 앤트로픽 CEO·혹탄 브로드컴 CEO 등이 함께 했다.
그러면서 "세계 최고 수준 AI 모델도 첨단 반도체 안정적 공급 없인 작동할 수 없고 뛰어난 반도체 역시 AI란 거대 수요가 있어야 새 가치를 창출할 수 있다”며 “AI 시대는 기술·생산 역량·데이터·에너지·시장·인재가 거대 공급망으로 연결되는 시대로 안정적 공급망 구축이 함께 풀어야 할 가장 중요 과제”라고 했다.
또 “한국이 보유한 세계 최고 수준 메모리 반도체 경쟁력·생산 역량을 토대로 신뢰할 수 있는 AI 반도체 생산기지·공급망 파트너가 되겠다”며 "전 세계 기업이 어떤 상황서도 AI 인프라 안정적 구축·기술 혁신을 이어갈 수 있도록 하겠다”고 했다.
이어 “AI가 연구실·디지털 공간을 넘어 제조 공장·도시·물류 현장 곳곳서 실제 작동하는 글로벌 AI 테스트베드·생산 플랫폼이 되겠다”며 "한국이 구축한 AI 생산 플랫폼에선 AI가 더욱 빠르게 개발·검증되며 산업 현장에 폭넓게 적용될 것”이라고 했다.
더불어 "대한민국만의 성장 아닌 글로벌 AI 생태계 전체 성장을 이끄는 새 수요 기반이 될 것”이라며 "다양한 국가와 수평적 협력 네트워크를 구축해 새 AI 시장을 만들고 더 많은 나라 국민이 AI 혁신 기회에 참여할 수 있도록 하겠다”고 했다.
이 대통령은 “인간·AI가 조화롭게 공존하며 함께 성장하는 미래를 위해 국제사회 협력을 제안한다”며 “AI 혜택이 특정 계층에 머물지 않고 사회 전체로 확산할 수 있도록 새 분배 모델을 고민 중이며 AI 기본사회 철학이 국제사회에도 확산할 수 있도록 책임 있는 역할을 다하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
