이재명 대통령이 25일(현지시간) "한·미 간 강점 결합 시 다음 세대 삼성·현대·SK·네이버·세계를 선도할 새 글로벌 혁신 기업을 함께 만들어 낼 수 있을 것”이라고 주장했다.
이 대통령은 이날 미국 샌프란시스코 한 호텔에서 열린 ‘실리콘밸리 벤처투자 밋업’ 행사 모두 발언에서 "한·미는 오랜 안보 동맹을 넘어 이제 기술·혁신·스타트업 동맹으로 협력 지평을 넓혀가야 한다”며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "대한민국은 글로벌 투자자들에 새 성장 기회를 제공할 수 있는 대체 하기 어려운 혁신 거점이라 확신한다"며 "대한민국 유망 스타트업과 글로벌 투자 역량이 만나면 투자자는 새 성장 기회를 얻고, 한국 스타트업은 세계 시장 도약 발판을 마련케 될 것”이라고 주장했다.
또 “해외 창업 인재 유입을 가로막는 비자 제도를 과감히 개선하고 국내외 기업·연구 및 투자기관을 연결하는 협력 기반도 더욱 확대하겠다”며 “모태 및 국민성장펀드·연기금·민간 자본을 유기적 연계해 유망 스타트업이 창업 단계에 머물지 않고 글로벌 기업으로 성장할 수 있도록 투자·금융·해외시장 진출을 종합 지원하겠다”고 투자를 호소했다.
