(해남=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전남광주통합특별시의회 행정소방위원회 박성재 위원장(더불어민주당·해남2)이 소외된 이웃을 찾아 주거환경 개선 봉사에 힘을 보탰다.
박성재 위원장은 지난 10일 해남군 화산면 송평마을을 방문해 ‘우리동네 복지기동대’ 봉사활동에 직접 참여하며 취약가구의 보금자리를 정비하는 시간을 가졌다.
‘우리동네 복지기동대’는 노후 벽지·장판 및 방충망 교체, 전기·가스 안전점검, 장애인 편의시설 설치, 생활 폐기물 처리 등 도움이 절실한 가구의 생활 불편 해소와 주거환경 개선을 지원하는 민관 협력 봉사 단체다.
이날 활동에는 윤운상 화산면 복지기동대장을 비롯한 대원 20여 명이 함께했으며, 방충망 수리 및 교체, 생활 쓰레기 정리정돈 등 현장 맞춤형 주거환경 개선에 일손을 모았다. 박 위원장 역시 현장에서 대원들과 구슬땀을 흘리는 한편, 지역 주민들의 건의 및 애로사항을 경청하며 소통의 시간을 가졌다.
봉사활동을 마친 박성재 위원장은 “주거환경이 열악한 취약계층을 내 이웃처럼 도울 수 있어 매우 뜻깊고 보람을 느낀다”며 “앞으로도 주변의 소외된 이웃들을 지속적으로 살피고 다양한 현장 봉사활동에 적극적으로 참여하겠다”고 소회를 밝혔다.
