전남광주통합특별시는 최근 임방울국악상심사위원회를 열어 ‘임방울국악상 본상’ 수상자로 주소연(58) 명창을, 유망 국악인에게 수여하는 ‘특별상’ 수상자로 김다정(44) 씨를 각각 선정했다고 14일 밝혔다.
본상 수상자인 주소연 명창은 국가무형유산 판소리 심청가 이수자로, 광주시립국악단 상임 차석과 광주KBS남도예술단 지도위원을 역임했다. 2004년 임방울국악제 판소리 명창부 대통령상, 서암전통문화대상 등을 수상했으며, 광주예술고등학교·전남대·조선대 강사로 활동하며 후학 양성에 힘써온 공로를 인정받았다.
특별상 수상자인 김다정 씨는 무안군립국악원 단원을 거쳐 현재 향산주소연판소리보존회 및 남도음악연구회 이사, 국악그룹 ‘SO.소리’ 창립 등 다방면에서 활발한 활동을 이어가고 있다. 2023년 임방울국악제 판소리 명창부 최우수상, 2024년 서편제보성소리축제 판소리 명창부 대통령상 등을 수상한 바 있다.
이번 수상자들에게는 전남광주통합특별시장패가 수여되며, 2027년 문화예술 창작활동 지원금으로 본상 1,000만 원, 특별상 500만 원이 각각 지원된다. 시상식은 오는 9월 4일 빛고을시민문화관에서 열리는 ‘제34회 임방울국악제 전야제’에서 진행될 예정이다.
한편, 2000년부터 시작된 임방울국악상과 더불어 매년 개최되는 ‘임방울국악제 전국대회’는 판소리, 기악, 농악, 무용, 가야금병창, 시조, 퓨전국악 등 다양한 분야의 경연을 펼친다.
