시교육청은 지난 12일 나주공업고등학교에 이어 14일 순천공업고등학교를 연속 방문해, 지역 산업 기반의 직업교육 추진 현황을 점검하고 학교 현장의 생생한 목소리를 청취하는 간담회를 가졌다고 밝혔다.
이번 방문은 지역에서 태어나 배우고, 지역 산업체에 취업하여 정주하는 ‘교육지산지소(敎育地産地消)’ 정책의 핵심 거점교인 나주공고와 순천공고의 운영 성과를 살피고, 현장의 애로사항을 발굴해 시교육청 차원의 실질적 정책으로 반영하기 위해 추진됐다.
학교별로 진행된 간담회에서는 각 학교가 추진 중인 특성화 교육 성과와 함께 당면한 현안 과제들이 심도 있게 다뤄졌다.
나주공업고등학교는 ‘협약형 특성화고’ 운영에 따른 교원들의 행정 부담 완화가 주요 과제로 제시됐다. 나주공고 측은 사업의 안정적 정착과 교육의 질 향상을 위해 교원 업무 경감 조치 및 대체 인력 지원 등 시교육청 차원의 한박자 빠르고 강력한 행정적 지원을 건의했다.
