[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 아시아를 대표하는 글로벌 코미디 축제인 '제14회 부산국제코미디페스티벌(BICF)'이 오는 8월 21일부터 30일까지 열흘간 벡스코 오디토리움을 중심으로 부산 전역에서 개최된다.
오는 21일 오후 7시 벡스코 오디토리움에서 코미디언 지석진의 사회로 진행되는 개막식에는 4인조 여성 밴드 'QWER'의 축하공연을 시작으로 '말자 할매'의 소통 토크 예능 '말자쇼', 프랑스 해외 공연팀 '마임 드 리옹', '개그콘서트' 출연팀의 특별 개막공연 등 국내외 예술인들이 대거 참여한다.
축제 기간 벡스코 오디토리움, 해운대 구남로 등 부산 곳곳에서 다채로운 공연이 이어진다. 주요 라인업으로는 만담 콤비들의 '만담어셈블@부코페', 솔직하고 강력한 입담의 '서울코미디 올스타즈', 무언극 배우 우석훈의 '우석훈 코미디 단편선', 갈갈이 박준형과 레전드들의 30주년 코미디쇼 '갈갈이 개그콘서트 레전드의 귀환' 등이 무대에 오른다.
특히 올해는 수영구 밀락더마켓에서 신규 프로그램 '김학래, 이용식 대환장 토크쇼'가 열린다. 코미디언 고(故) 구봉서 탄생 100주년 헌정 토크쇼로, 현대적 감각의 코미디를 통해 세대를 잇는 웃음의 가치를 전달할 계획이다.
시민들이 무료로 참여할 수 있는 부대행사도 마련됐다. 오는 23일부터 26일까지 해운대 구남로 일대에서는 인디 공연팀의 코믹한 거리예술을 관람할 수 있는 '코미디 스트리트'가 진행된다.

관객을 직접 찾아가는 배달 공연인 '코미디 오픈콘서트'는 25일 부산항 크루즈 선착장, 27일 중구 유라리광장, 28일 다대포 해변공원 중앙광장에서 열린다. 이에 앞서 지난 7월 10일에는 사전 행사 '코미디 스쿨어택'을 통해 삼성여자고등학교를 방문해 게릴라 코미디콘서트를 선보이기도 했다.
폐막식은 30일 오후 6시 영화의전당 하늘연극장에서 개최된다. 개그맨과 가수의 합성어인 '개가수'들이 선보이는 하이브리드 공연 <나는 개가수다>가 대미를 장식하며, 축제 참여 작품 시상과 함께 막을 내린다.

Asia’s leading global comedy celebration, the 14th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF), will run for 10 days from August 21 to 30, with events centered at BEXCO Auditorium and staged across Busan.
Opening ceremony
The Busan Metropolitan Government announced that the opening ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. on August 21 at BEXCO Auditorium. Hosted by comedian Ji Seok-jin, the ceremony will begin with a special performance by the four-member female band QWER, followed by Malja Halmae’s interactive talk show “Malja Show,” a showcase by French troupe Mime de Lyon, and a special opening act featuring teams from the long-running sketch comedy program “Gag Concert,” bringing together artists from Korea and abroad.
Festival lineup
During the festival, a diverse program of performances will be held at venues including BEXCO Auditorium and Haeundae’s Gunam-ro. Highlights include “Mandam Assemble@BuCoFe,” featuring top man-dam (two-person talk-comedy) duos; “Seoul Comedy All-Stars,” known for sharp, unfiltered wit; actor Woo Seok-hoon’s “Woo Seok-hoon Comedy Short Stories,” showcasing his physical and silent comedy; and “Galgal-i Gag Concert: Return of the Legends,” a 30th-anniversary comedy show led by Park Jun-hyung (Galgal-i) and other veteran performers.

Special tribute show
This year also sees the launch of a new program, the “Kim Hak-rae, Lee Yong-sik Ultra-Hilarious Talk Show,” at Millac The Market in Suyeong District. Conceived as a tribute marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late comedian Gu Bong-seo, the show aims to connect generations through comedy that blends modern sensibilities with timeless humor.
Free public events
The festival will also offer a range of free side events for the public. From August 23 to 26, “Comedy Street” along Gunam-ro in Haeundae will feature comic street performances by indie troupes.
The “Comedy Open Concert,” a roving show that brings performances directly to audiences, will be held on August 25 at the Busan Port cruise terminal, on August 27 at Yurari Square in Jung District, and on August 28 at the central plaza of Dadaepo Beach Park. Prior to the main festival, a pre-event titled “Comedy School Attack” saw performers stage a guerrilla comedy concert at Samsung Girls’ High School on July 10.

Closing ceremony
The closing ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. on August 30 at Haneul Theater in the Busan Cinema Center. The festival will conclude with <I Am a Gag Singer>, a hybrid show featuring “gaegasu” (a portmanteau of “gagman” and “singer”), along with the awards ceremony honoring works featured in the festival.
