이광수 명인, 제16회 박헌봉 국악상 수상자로 선정

[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 사물놀이 창시자인 이광수 명인이 제16회 박헌봉 국악상 수상자로 선정됐다.

산청군은 이광수 명인을 올해 박헌봉 국악상 수상자로 선정했다고 19일 밝혔다.

이 명인은 1978년 최종실 명인 등과 사물놀이를 창단한 뒤 국내외 공연을 통해 한국 전통음악을 알리고 사물놀이 발전을 이끌었다. 예술 활동과 교육을 병행하며 국악의 세계화와 전통예술 인재 양성에도 힘써왔다.

1993년에는 민족음악원을 설립해 우리 음악과 문화의 보존·전승에 나섰으며, 1999년에는 충남 예산군에 민족음악원 예산 학습당을 열어 후학 양성을 이어왔다.

시상식은 오는 10월 9일 동의보감촌에서 열리는 제26회 산청한방약초축제 특설무대에서 진행된다.

박헌봉 국악상은 산청 출신 국악인 고(故) 기산 박헌봉 선생의 정신을 계승하고 전통문화와 국악 발전에 기여한 국악인을 발굴·기리기 위해 제정됐다.
