강민아를 비롯해 박지훈, 배인혁 등 청춘 스타들이 출연한 KBS 2TV 월화드라마 ‘멀리서 보면 푸른 봄’(연출 김정현/ 극본 고연수)은 세대를 아우르는 공감을 담은 스토리, 통통 튀는 전개와 주연 배우들의 호연, 섬세한 연출과 아름다운 영상미 등으로 2021년 독보적 분위기의 캠퍼스 로맨스를 완성하며 지난 20일 종영했다.
이번 ‘멀리서 보면 푸른 봄’에서 평범한 대학생 김소빈 역으로 열연을 펼친 강민아는 여준(박지훈 분)과 남수현(배인혁 분)을 만나 변화하고 성장해 나가는 과정을 현실적으로 그려내 청춘들의 공감을 얻었고, 상처 가득했던 어린 날의 자신과 눈물로 화해하며 트라우마를 극복하는 장면을 통해 시청자들의 응원을 이끌어냈다.

강민아는 최근 ‘멀리서 보면 푸른 봄’ 종영을 맞아 진행된 <브레이크뉴스>와의 인터뷰에서 지상파 첫 주연 소감, 캐릭터와의 싱크로율, 붙고 싶은 수식어, 배우·인간으로서의 목표 등 다양한 이야기를 전했다.

강민아 : 처음에는 아무렇지 않았는데 ‘멀리서 보면 푸른 봄’ 방송이 끝나면 모든 게 끝이라는 생각이 들다보니 아쉬움이 있더라. 복잡하고 미묘한 기분인 것 같고, 보내주기 섭섭한 느낌이다. 생각보다 ‘멀리서 보면 푸른 봄’ 12회가 빨리 끝나는 느낌이어서 아쉬움이 크다.
▲‘멀리서 보면 푸른 봄’으로 지상파 첫 주연을 맡았다. 첫 주연에 대한 부담감이 컸을 것 같은데.
강민아 : 부담도 되고 걱정도 컸는데, 스스로 너무 큰 의미를 두면 잘 해내지 못할 것 같다는 강박이 들더라. 어쨌든 첫 주연이어도 이 드라마를 만드는 여러 사람 중의 하나고, 모두가 합심해서 만들어야 드라마가 잘 나온다고 생각을 했다. 주연이든, 조연이든, 출연진이든, 제작진이든 모두가 드라마를 잘 만들기 우해 모였다고 생각하니 마음이 편해졌다. 촬영을 하면서 부담감보다는 같이 재미있게 최선을 다하자는 생각으로 했다.

강민아 : ‘열심히 살고는 있는데 뭘 해야 할지 모른다’라는 내용에 많은 공감이 됐다. 앞에 닥친 것들을 열심히 하면서 살고 있지만 결국에는 뭐가 될지 다 모르지 않나. 그런 부분에 시청자분들도 공감해주더라. 저는 확실한 꿈을 갖고 연기를 했지만, 제 친오빠만 봐도 공부도 열심히 하고 학교 생활을 열심히 했는데 꿈이 없더라 직장을 다니는데도 아직도 꿈을 모르겠다고 하더라.
▲‘멀리서 보면 푸른 봄’ 김소빈 역과 실제 강민아의 싱크로율은 몇 %라고 생각하는지.
강민아 : 0%라고 생각한다(웃음). 대본을 받아서 보는데 소빈은 실제 저와 비슷한 부분이 하나도 없었다. 저는 굉장히 밝고, 외향적이고, 낯도 안 가리는데 소빈이는 모든 게 반대다. 이걸 어떻게 잘 표현할 수 있지 않을까 걱정도 됐다. 하지만 저와 너무나 다르기 때문에 그 캐릭터를 연기하는 것이 재미있을 것 같았다. 강민아의 다른 모습을 보여줄 수 있을 것 같았던 것 같다.

강민아 : 소빈이가 어린 자신을 보고는 울면서 안아주는 장면이 있는데, ‘멀리서 보면 푸른 봄’에서 제 아역을 연기한 오아린 배우의 얼굴만 봐도 눈물이 나올 정도였다. 찍을 때도 마음이 많이 아팠다. 팬분들께서 방송을 보고 많이 울었다고 하는데, 저 역시 그 장면이 기억에 남는다.
▲‘멀리서 보면 푸른 봄’은 다소 저조한 시청률을 기록했다. 주연배우로서 아쉬움이 남을 것 같은데, 이에 대해 어떻게 생각하는지.
강민아 : 작품을 처음 시작할 때는 시청률에 대해 이야기도 했는데, 촬영을 하고나면 ‘연기가 후회없이 나왔으면 좋겠다’, ‘연기가 잘 편집됐으면 좋겠다’는 마음이 더 커졌던 것 같다. 감독님의 마음은 잘 모르겠지만, 배우 입장에서는 크게 가슴 아프지는 않는 것 같다(웃음). 그것보다는 제 연기의 아쉬움이 더 크지 않나 생각한다.
▲본인이 생각하는 강민아라는 배우의 매력은 무엇이라고 생각하는지.
강민아 : 제 매력? 뭐가 있을까(웃음).감독님들이 제 필모그래피를 읽어보면서도 그 작품에 제가 나왔다는 걸 잘 모르더라. 작품마다 실제 저와 느낌이 다르다는 이야기를 해줬다. 지금까지 일을 13년 정도 했는데, 제가 나온 작품 속 저를 잘 모르더라. 다양한 작품에서 여러 모습을 보여드릴 수 있는 것이 제 큰 매력이지 않나 생각한다(웃음).

▲상대 배우로서 본 박지훈, 배인혁의 장점은 무엇이라 생각하는지. 감정 연기 등 호흡을 맞추면서 좋았던 점은.
강민아 : 박지훈의 매력은 촉촉한 눈망울이다. 촉촉하고 사연있는 눈빛이라 억지로 집중하기 위해 노력하지 않아도 빠져드는 느낌이 있다. 배우는 눈빛이 중요하지 않나. 같이 연기하면서 많은 연기를 할 수 있는 눈빛이라는 생각이 들었다. 배인혁은 목소리가 정말 좋다. 연기자의 중요한 요소가 목소리지 않나(웃음). 무게감 있고 마음이 차분해지는 목소리가 매력이자 장점이라 생각한다.
두 배우 모두 정말 착하다. 대화도 잘 되고, 말도 잘 들어준다. 티키타카가 중요한 장면을 촬영할 때는 서로서로 의견을 나누면서 좋은 장면을 위해 배려를 많이 했던 것 같다.
▲트렌디한 작품들에 연이어 참여하고 있는데, 다른 장르에 대한 욕심도 있는지.
강민아 : 액션을 아직 한 번도 안 찍었다보니 액션에 도전하고 싶다. 그리고 장르물을 좋아하는데, 스릴러, 공포영화에도 참여해보고 싶다. 볼때는 무서워도 현장을 생각하면 재밌는 느낌이 있을 것 같다. 아직 도전해보지 않은 장르들에 참여해보고 싶은 바람이다.
▲‘리틀 김태희’로 불리던 아역배우에서 이제는 아역배우가 있는 배우로 성장했다. 아역배우와 연기하는 장면에서는 감회가 남달랐을 것 같은데.
강민아 : 현장에서 오아린을 보는데 기분이 이상하더라. 누군가의 아역이었는데, 이제는 아역을 올 나이가 됐다는 생각도 들고, 앉아서 쉴때 이야기를 나눠보니 오아린도 데뷔한지 7년이나 됐더라.
오아린은 촬영장에 어머니와 함께 왔는데, 저도 어릴 때는 엄마와 다녔다보니 예전 기억이 많이 떠오르더라. 제 팬분들도 누군가의 아역을 하던 사람이 아역이 오는 사람이 됐다는 글을 썼는데, 저 뿐만 아니라 제 팬들도 그런 감정을 느낀다고 생각하니 감회가 새로웠다.
▲‘멀리서 보면 푸른 봄’은 강민아에게 어떤 작품으로 기억될 것 같은지.
강민아 : 계절적으로 너무 춥지도, 너무 덥지도 않게 찍은 작품은 처음이다. 꽃피는 봄에 찍어서 따뜻한 초여름에 작품을 마무리를 했다보니 큰 힘듬 없이 즐겁게 찍은 작품이지 않나 싶다. ‘멀리서 보면 푸른 봄’은 즐겁고 재밌었고 행복했던 현장이 화기애애했던 작품으로 기억될 것 같다.
▲지난 2009년 영화 <바다에서>로 데뷔해 벌써 12년차 배우가 됐다. 데뷔 때와 지금 가장 바뀌었다고 생각하는 점은 무엇인가.
강민아 : 가장 바뀐 건 연기라고 생각한다. 그때는 대본에 쓰여진 텍스처를 외워서 밖으로 내뱉는다라는 생각뿐이었는데, 연기를 하면 할수록 잘하고 싶다는 마음이 커질 수록 어려움이 커졌다. 그때보다 연기력은 훨씬 좋아졌겠지만 제 마음가짐이 가장 바뀐 것 같다. 고민과 생각이 많아졌다보니 연기가 더 어려워진 것 같다.
▲‘에이틴2’, ‘여신강림’부터 이번 ‘멀리서 보면 푸른 봄’까지 청춘물에서 더욱 큰 사랑을 받는 것 같다. 청춘물로 더욱 큰 인기를 얻는 이유는 무엇이라 생각하는지.
강민아 : 제가 맡았던 캐릭터들이 귀여웠다. 그동안 극중 각자의 매력이 강했던 캐릭터를 맡다보니 큰 사랑을 받은 것 아닐까 싶다. 색깔이 다르지만 캐릭터가 추구하는 방향성이 확실하다보니 보는 분들에게는 더욱 매력적으로 다가갔던 것 아닐까 생각한다.
▲연기자로 진로를 일찌감치 정했는데 가지 않은 길, 다른 꿈에 대한 생각을 해본 적도 있나.
강민아 : 다른 직업에 대해 생각한 적은 있지만, 나중에는 결국 연기자로 돌아왔을 것 같다. 지금하는 연기자 생활에 후회도 없고, 직업 만족도가 100%다(웃음). 이정도로 연기자에 딱 맞는 성격이라면 다른 직업이 있다고 하더라도 결국에는 그 직업을 그만두고 연기자로 돌아오지 않았을까.

▲‘장옥정, 사랑에 살다’에서 장옥정 어린시절을 연기하면서 ‘리틀 김태희’라 불리는 등 아역부터 부지런히 활동했다. 지금 붙고 싶은 수식어는.
강민아 : 20대 중에서 연기를 가장 잘한다는 소리를 듣고 싶다. 20대가 끝나기 전까지 그 수식어를 들을 수 있도록 노력하겠다.
▲전작 ‘괴물’은 또래들이 대부분인 ‘멀리서 보면 푸른 봄’과 다르게 베테랑 선배들이 많은 현장이었다. 신하균, 여진구, 이규회, 최대훈 등 선배들에게 배운 점도 많았을 것 같은데.
강민아 : 선배님들이 많은 현장에 가면 마음이 편해진다. 선배님들께 배울 점도 많고, 다른 건 신경 안쓰고 저만 잘하면 되기 때문이다(웃음). 선배님들이 어렵기는 하지만, 떨리면서 좋다. 선배님들의 연기를 실제로 볼 수 있으니. ‘괴물’ 전체 리딩을 갔을 때도 너무나 행복하고 좋았다.
‘괴물’에서 맡은 강민정 캐릭터가 잠깐 등장한 뒤 빠지는 역할이라 걱정이 되기는 했는데, 다행히 극초반 민정이의 사건이 다뤄져 그런 부분들은 문제가 없었다. 그리고 선배님들이 너무나 편안하게 대해주고, 딸처럼 대해줘서 즐겁게 촬영할 수 있었다. 짧은 촬영이었지만 행복한 기억으로 남아 있다.
▲강민아는 드라마 뿐만 아니라, <남자가 사랑할 때>, <히야>, <박화영> 등 각종 영화에서도 활약했다. 영화 출연 계획은 있는지.
강민아 : 개인적으로 영화가 더 좋다, 드라마가 더 좋다는 없다. 두 장르를 너무 좋아하다보니 가리지는 않는다. 좋은 작품만 있다면 영화도, 드라마도 많이 하고 싶다.
▲본인 스스로가 생각하는 배우 강민아의 장단점은 무엇이라 생각하는지.
강민아 : 제 목소리가 허스키한 것이 단점이라고 생각했는데, 지금은 제 목소리를 좋아해주는 분들이 많아서 장점이라고 생각한다. 단점? 사실 제 얼굴이 진하게 생겼다보니 단점으로 작용될 수 있겠다는 생각은 든다. 여러 모습을 보여드려도 한 사람으로 생각될 수 있다보니 그런 부분이 단점이자 걱정이다.
▲‘여신강림’, ‘괴물’, ‘멀리서 보면 푸른 봄’까지 올 한해 바쁜 스케줄을 소화했다. 남은 올해 계획은 어떻게 되는지.
강민아 : 올해 목표가 소처럼 일하는 것이었는데, 공교롭게도 운이 좋게 지난해 여름부터 쉬지 않고 일했다. 아마도 올해가 끝날 때까지 2달 이상 쉬지 않고 일하지 않을까 생각한다. 아직은 열심히 달릴 때라 생각하기 때문에 배우로서 열심히 노력하고 노력할 예정이다.
▲배우 강민아, 인간 강민아로서의 목표가 있다면.
강민아 : 평생 연기를 할 생각이니 대중들에게 신뢰받을 수 있는, 연기를 잘하는 ‘믿보배(믿고 보는 배우)’가 되고 싶다. 인간 강민아로서는 어릴때부터 연기자로서 일을 하다보니 연기자 강민아로서만 생각한 것 같더라. 연기자는 직업으로 생각하고, 인간 강민아와 배우 강민아를 분리하기 위해 노력하고 있다. 배우가 아닌 인간 강민아로서의 목표는 아직 생각한 적 없고, 지금 가장 고민하는 부분이지 않나 싶다.
▲코로나 이후 가장 하고 싶은 일이 있다면. 팬분들과 만남도 계획 중인지.
강민아 : 코로나 이후 가장 하고 싶은 일은 작게라도 팬미팅을 하고 싶다. 연기자는 팬분들과 만날 일이 적은 편이지 않나. 코로나가 끝나고나면 팬분들과 대면 팬미팅을 꼭 하고 싶은 바람이다.

Minah Kang: I think 0% (laughs). When I got the script and read it, Sobin didn't really have any parts that were similar to me. I am very bright, outgoing, and shy, but Sobin is the opposite of everything. She was also worried about how well she could express this. But she was so different from me that she thought it would be fun to play that character. She seemed to be able to show a different side of Kang Min-ah.
▲The most memorable scene in ‘Blue Spring from afar’. What is the reason?
Kang Min-ah: There is a scene where So-bin sees her young self and hugs her while crying, and just looking at the face of actress Oh A-rin, who played my child in 'Blue Spring' from afar, brought tears to my eyes. My heart hurt a lot when I was filming. Fans said that they cried a lot while watching the show, but I also remember that scene.

Kang Min-ah: When I first started the drama, we talked about the ratings, but after filming, I think ‘I hope that the acting will come out without regret’ and ‘I hope the acting will be edited well’. Minah Kang: I have never done an action film before, so I want to challenge myself with action. And I like genres, so I want to participate in thrillers and horror movies. Kang Min-ah: It felt strange to see Oh A-rin on set. She used to be someone's child, but now I think that she is old enough to play a child role, and when I sit down and talk while taking a break, it turns out that Oh Ah-rin also debuted 7 years ago.
Oh Arin came to the filming set with her mother, and when I was young, I went with her mother, so many memories from the past came to mind. ▲ What kind of work do you think Kang Min-ah will remember in ‘Blue Spring from afar’?
Minah Kang: This is the first time I have filmed a work that is neither too cold nor too hot in the season. Minah Kang: The characters I played were cute. In the meantime, I think it must have been a lot of love since I took on the characters that each had their own strong charms. ▲Have you ever decided on a career path as an actor early, but have you ever thought about a different dream?
Minah Kang: I have thought about other careers, but I think I will eventually return to acting. I have no regrets about my current acting career, and my job satisfaction is 100% (laughs). I was worried because the character Kang Min-jung in 'Monster' appeared briefly and then dropped out, but fortunately, Min-jeong's case was dealt with in the early stages, so there were no problems with those parts. Minah Kang: Personally, there is no such thing as a better movie or a better drama. I love both genres so I don't choose between them. If there is only good work I want to do a lot of painting and drama.
▲ What do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of actress Kang Min-ah?
Minah Kang: I thought my voice was husky as a disadvantage, but now there are many people who like my voice, so I think it is an advantage. Disadvantages? Actually, since my face looks darker, I think it can be used as a weakness. Even if I show a lot of different sides of myself, I can still think of you as a single person, so that part is both a weakness and a concern.

Minah Kang: My goal this year was to work like a cow, and I was fortunate to have been working nonstop since last summer. I think that maybe I will work without a break for more than two months until the end of this year. I think it's still time to run hard, so I plan to work hard and work hard as an actor.

Kang Min-ah: I plan to act for the rest of my life, so I want to become a ‘trustworthy actress’ who can be trusted by the public and who is good at acting. Minah Kang: The thing I want to do the most after Corona is to hold a fan meeting, even if it is small. Actors rarely meet with their fans, don't they? After Corona is over, I really want to hold a face-to-face fan meeting with the fans.
