[Field] Jung Hae-in, Go Kyung-pyo, and Kim Hye-joon 'Connect', actors who are already expected to transform their acting

Disney+ Korean original series, press conference held in Singapore on the 1st

Reporter Park Dong-je of Break News = <Connect> main actors Jung Hae-in, Go Kyung-pyo, and Kim Hye-joon foretold a new acting transformation.

On the 1st, a press conference for the Disney+ Korean original series <Connect> was held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Director Takashi Miike and actors Jung Hae-in, Go Kyung-pyo, and Kim Hye-joon attended the scene and drew attention.

<Connect> is a new human being with an immortal body, 'Connect' Dong-soo, who is kidnapped by an organ trafficking organization and loses one of his eyes. It is a story that contains

In this <Connect>, Jung Hae-in plays the role of 'Dong-soo', a new human with an immortal body called 'Connect' who chases a serial killer to get his eye stolen, Go Kyung-pyo plays the role of 'Jin-seop' who accidentally gets Dong-soo's eyes, and Kim Hye-joon I took on the role of Lee Rang, a mysterious assistant who helps Dong-soo.

On this day, director Takashi Miike of <Connect> said, “It is my first time working with a Korean artist, and <Connect> is a work that I love and cherish. I hope you will send us a lot of expectations,” Jung Hae-in said, “I am grateful that reporters from many countries came, just like this in Korea,” and Go Kyung-pyo said, “Thank you for coming all the way to Singapore. It is an honor to be able to greet you through <Connect>,” Kim Hye-joon said, “Thank you for coming all the way to Singapore. I am delighted to be able to greet you through <Connect>.”

When asked how he felt about meeting viewers around the world through <Connect>, director Takashi Miike said, “There are many things I experience for the first time. It's my first time streaming, but I think it's a very precious experience to hear that it's being streamed through Disney+. It's the first time I'm working with Korea, and I think it's very interesting."

Jung Hae-in said, “From the point of view of a person who makes a work or an actor, there is nothing happier than seeing a work being watched by many people. It is an honor in itself that <Connect> is streamed around the world through Disney+. I think I'm lucky,” Go Kyung-pyo said, “I think I was born well at a good time,” and Kim Hye-joon said, “Working on <Connect> was special. I am excited and happy to be able to greet not only Korea, but also the world.”

Regarding the reason for choosing <Connect>, director Takashi Miike said, “To be honest, I did not choose <Connect>, but the original <Connect> is very attractive. I wonder if they chose me as the director thinking that I would be the most suitable. It's the first time I'm making a webtoon into a work, and it's an amazing experience to meet a work like <Connect> in this era."

Regarding the mindset and episodes that were different from other works while working on <Connect>, Jung Hae-in said, “<Connect> is my first SF work, and there were more CG shots than I thought. What I realized was that there are a lot of CG shots for heroes in Marvel. I felt their greatness. CG filming was harder than I thought. I had to act while imagining it, but it was awkward, but the atmosphere on set was so good that I was able to shake off the awkwardness I felt.”

Go Kyung-pyo said, "I wanted to show a different side of me from the characters I've played so far. It's the first time I've expressed a character, so I think it'll feel new, and <Connect> is also an interesting work, so I hope you enjoy it.” CG filming was awkward for me too, but it was fun. I think I tried several things, such as trying to bleach my hair to build the character Lee Rang in the play,” he said.

When asked how he felt working with Korean actors Jung Hae-in, Go Kyung-pyo, and Kim Hye-joon in <Connect>, director Takashi Miike said, “I am a huge fan of Korean works in the first place. Unlike Japanese actors, Korean actors are full of passion. And the power of man was great. Jung Hae-in, Go Kyung-pyo, and Kim Hye-joon are actors who have acting skills, of course, and have everything that goes beyond acting skills.”

When asked about his impressions of working with director Takashi Miike through <Connect>, Go Kyung-pyo said, "I was a big fan of Takashi Miike, and what I felt while filming <Connect> was that the director's passion was great. Thanks to you, I was able to work harder. It was a scene full of consideration that is hard to experience even in Korea. It was the appearance of a director who was close to a perfect utopia. I was so grateful that they were so cute on set, and it was a fun and happy filming location.”

Kim Hye-jun said, “I also felt the director’s energy a lot while filming <Connect>. I was having a hard time at first because it was an action film, but the director showed me a demonstration and helped me. But the director was so nimble and fast. It's a pity that I couldn't follow that movement only halfway,” Jung Hae-in said, “I think I was able to connect with director Takashi Miike on the set of <Connect>. I felt a lot that the director and I were thinking the same thing on set. That was very surprising and fun. What if the director calls again? I am always ready,” he said.

Regarding the part to focus on while preparing for the role of <Connect> Dong-soo, Jung Hae-in said, “When I approached the character Dong-soo, the first thing I thought about was loneliness and solitude. He is basically a person with a good heart, but I thought every moment about how to act when a person like this properly knows his abilities and decides to use them for something more upright,” he said. In a way, he is a dark hero, but he seems to have thought that he is a person who wants to be a hero and a man who just wants to prevent accidents and incidents.”

Regarding the difficulties while filming <Connect>, Jung Hae-in said, “I had to wear an eye patch and act, so everything else was fine, but when I was acting in action, it was difficult because of the distance and dizziness. However, I quickly got used to it, and later, I think it was more awkward because I took off the eyepatch and acted in action.” Since it is a character with no disadvantages physically or in all areas, I acted in an intact state, and there was no great difficulty because I was in the position of inflicting damage rather than being victimized.”

Regarding the filming episode of <Connect>, Kim Hye-joon said, "When I was filming <Connect>, I made fun of Jung Hae-in for enduring CG acting, but later, when I did CG acting, I felt sorry." When I was acting, I didn't know who was behind the monitor, but I laughed quietly. I acted seriously,” he said. In response, Kim Hye-jun said, "It's not me," and made her laugh.

Meanwhile, all 6 episodes of <Connect> will be released through Disney+ on the 7th.
