브레이크뉴스 임국정 기자 = 엔씨소프트(이하 엔씨(NC))가 12일 오픈 API(응용프로그램 프로그래밍 인터페이스) 제공 플랫폼 'PLAYNC 개발자센터'를 열었다.
엔씨는 이날 PLAYNC 개발자센터 홈페이지를 새롭게 열고 자사의 게임 데이터를 오픈 API 형태로 공개했다. 엔씨가 공개한 게임 데이터는 모바일 다중접속역할수행게임(MMORPG) '리니지2M'의 ▲아이템 정보 ▲아이템 시세 데이터 ▲아이템 검색 ▲서버 정보 등이다.
엔씨는 게임 데이터의 종류와 대상 게임을 점차 확대해 나갈 예정이다. 게임 데이터 외에 엔씨가 개발하고 있는 다양한 기술들도 오픈 API로 제공할 계획이다.
PLAYNC 회원이면 누구나 API를 이용해 응용프로그램과 서비스를 직접 개발할 수 있다. 또 오픈 API 사용을 위해 필요한 앱 관리, API 문서, 적용 가이드, 문의 등도 이용 가능하다.
엄세웅 엔씨 플랫폼센터장은 "이번에 공개한 오픈 API를 통해 다양한 채널에서 정확한 게임 데이터를 활용할 수 있게 됐다"며 "게임 데이터의 외부 공개를 통해 게임 생태계 전체가 함께 성장할 수 있는 기회가 되길 기대한다"고 밝혔다.
