Yoo Ah-in delays police attendance for 'drug use charge' "Summons of suspects are not disclosed in principle"

On the 23rd, the law firm revealed the reason for requesting an adjustment of the attendance date

Reporter Park Dong-je of Break News = While the police summons and investigation of actor Yoo Ah-in (37.

On the 23rd, Yoo Ah-in's attorney, Law Firm Infinity, issued a statement saying, "Yoo Ah-in is currently being investigated by the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Drug Crime Investigation Unit regarding drug use. I was notified to receive it,” he said.

Yoo Ah-in's side said, "At the time, the police notified the lawyer that the summoning of Yoo Ah-in was private, and regardless of whether or not the notification was made, according to the 'Rules on Public Information on Police Investigation Cases,' it is a principle that summoning suspects should be kept private."

“However, as you know, all the media reported that Yoo Ah-in will attend on Friday, and among them, there is an article saying that the police confirmed the date and time of Yoo Ah-in’s attendance.” It is clear that this violates the relevant laws and regulations. Therefore, as a lawyer, I inevitably asked the police to adjust the attendance date.”

"I would like to say once again that the request to adjust the attendance date does not mean that Yoo Ah-in intentionally delays attendance. I intend to do it,” he said.

Lastly, he added, “I apologize for the inconvenience regarding Yoo Ah-in’s attendance, and I ask for your understanding.”

Originally, Yoo Ah-in was scheduled to be investigated by the police on the 24th as a suspect in violation of the Narcotics Control Act (psychopathic drugs, etc.). However, the date of Yoo Ah-in's police appearance was known through the media, and it seems that Yoo Ah-in, who felt burdened by this, postponed the scheduled attendance date.

Meanwhile, the police conducted a body search and seizure of urine and hair against Yoo Ah-in, who entered Incheon International Airport from the United States on the 5th of last month.

At that time, a positive reaction to hemp was obtained in a urine test, and then a positive reaction was obtained for propofol as a result of hair analysis by the National Institute of Scientific Investigation (hereinafter referred to as the National Forensic Service). In addition, Yoo Ah-in was shocked when two additional narcotics were detected, including hemp and propofol, followed by cocaine and ketamine.

Accordingly, on the 7th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Drug Crime Investigation Unit conducted a search and seizure of Yoo Ah-in's home in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul and her resident registration address in Itaewon-dong, Seoul, and recently summoned Yoo Ah-in's manager and acquaintances as references.
