포항해양경찰서에 따르면 지난 15일 해병대 특수수색 종합훈련장과 포스코 파제제 인근 해상에서 포항남부소방서와 합동으로 수중수색 훈련을 진행했다.
이번 훈련은 해양사고 발생 시 신속하고 체계적인 구조 활동을 수행하기 위해 관계기관 간 협력체계를 점검하고, 수난구호 세력의 현장 대응 능력을 높이기 위해 마련됐다. 특히 구조기법을 공유하고 수중 탐색 능력을 향상하는 데 중점을 두고 진행됐다.
훈련에서는 해양사고 발생 시 기관별 역할 분담과 구조 통제 체계를 점검하고, 시야 확보가 어려운 환경에서의 수중 탐색 기술을 숙달하는 시간을 가졌다. 또한 수중 내비게이션 운용과 18m 이상 수심 적응 훈련을 실시해 잠수 구조대원의 실전 대응 능력을 높였다.
이와 함께 원격무인잠수정(ROV)과 다방향 CCTV 등 첨단 수중 탐색장비를 활용한 시연도 진행됐으며, 구조 현장에서 활용 가능한 다양한 수색·구조 기법에 대한 정보 교류도 이뤄졌다.
이근안 포항해양경찰서장은 “이번 훈련을 통해 유관기관 간 공조 체계를 더욱 공고히 하고 실제 상황에 준하는 대응 능력을 점검할 수 있었다”며 “앞으로도 포항남부소방서와 지속적인 합동훈련을 실시해 국민의 생명과 안전을 보호하는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
