이번 단속은 경기도 전역에서 실시하는 ‘경기도 오토바이 소음 없는 날’에 맞춰 진행됐다. 합동단속반은 오토바이 통행이 잦은 지점에 이동식 소음 측정 장비를 투입하고, 교통안전공단 전문가의 육안 점검을 거쳐 단속의 실효성을 높였다.
주요 점검 대상은 ▲소음기 및 덮개 탈착 ▲경음기 불법 추가 부착 ▲배기소음 허용기준 초과 여부 등이다. 적발된 이륜차 소유자에게는 「소음·진동관리법」에 따라 원상복구 등의 행정처분과 함께 최대 200만 원 이하의 과태료가 부과된다.
