(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도기자) 남동구가 17일, 시비 2억 원을 포함한 총 5억 원의 예산을 투입해 논현동 564-2 일원의 앞골어린이공원 환경개선사업을 완료했다고 밝혔다.
남동구에 따르면, 앞골어린이공원은 인근 주민들의 휴식공간으로 이용돼왔으나, 어린이 놀이시설과 휴게공간, 공원등이 노후화되면서 안전사고 우려와 함께 시설 개선을 요구하는 민원이 지속적으로 제기됐다.
이에 남동구는 2025년 하반기 특별교부세 3억 원과 2026년 시비 2억 원을 확보, 올해 초 실시설계용역과 주민 의견수렴 절차를 거쳐 4~6월까지 환경개선사업을 추진했다.
이번 사업을 통해 구는 어린이들이 안전하게 뛰어놀 수 있도록 노후 어린이 놀이시설을 정비하고, 야외운동기구와 어르신 치매 예방을 위한 시니어 운동기구를 새롭게 설치했다.
또, 노후 공원등을 교체해 야간 경관 개선과 보행 안전을 확보하고, 기존 은행나무 주변에 정원과 함께 누구나 편안하게 머물 수 있는 휴게공간을 설치했다.
