【브레이크뉴스 구미】진예솔 기자=경북 구미원당초등학교가 경북 최초로 국제바칼로레아(IB) 월드스쿨 인증에 도전한다. 경상북도교육청은 구미원당초가 오는 7월 9일부터 10일까지 이틀간 국제바칼로레아기구 본부 심사단의 방문 심사를 받는다고 17일 밝혔다.
이번 심사는 경북 지역에서 처음 IB 월드스쿨 인증에 도전하는 학교를 대상으로 한 최종 단계로, 학교가 국제 기준에 부합하는 탐구 중심 교육과정과 평가 체계를 운영하고 있는지 종합적으로 점검한다.
구미원당초는 학생 주도성 강화와 탐구 역량 신장을 목표로 다양한 교육활동을 꾸준히 해왔다. 교사 역량 연수와 협력적 학습 문화 조성, IB 초등교육과정 전시회 개최 등으로 교육 혁신의 토대를 마련했다.
심사 기간 동안 국제바칼로레아기구 심사단은 교직원과 학생, 학부모 등 교육공동체를 면담하고, 수업 참관 및 시설 점검에 나설 계획이다. 이를 통해 학교의 교육 철학과 운영 체계가 IB의 글로벌 기준에 얼마나 부합하는지 다각적으로 평가한다.
