학원가에서 발생할 수 있는 만일의 안전사고에 대비해 지역 학원 종사자들이 아이들의 생명을 지키는 파수꾼으로 나섰다.
안양시학원연합회는 지난 15일 안양아트센터 컨벤션홀에서 관내 학원장 및 학원 종사자 140여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘어린이이용시설 종사자 안전교육’을 성황리에 실시했다고 17일 밝혔다.
경기도교육청 위탁 사업으로 진행된 이번 교육은 학원 현장에서 어린이 안전사고가 발생했을 때 종사자들이 당황하지 않고 신속하게 응급처치를 할 수 있는 실전 대응 능력을 키우기 위해 마련됐다. 교육은 심폐소생술(CPR)과 자동심장충격기(AED) 사용법, 기도 폐쇄 시 대처하는 하임리히법 등을 중심으로 밀도 있게 진행됐다.
특히 이번 과정에서는 영유아, 어린이, 청소년 등 연령대별 신체 특성을 고려한 맞춤형 응급처치법이 다뤄져 주목을 받았다. 목에 이물질이 걸렸을 때 실시하는 하임리히법의 경우, 대상의 나이와 체구에 따라 자세와 압박 위치가 다르다는 점을 상세한 시각 자료와 함께 설명해 참가자들의 이해를 도왔다.

김범수 안양시학원연합회장은 “연합회는 회원 원장님들과 종사자분들에게 실무적으로 가장 필요한 교육과 행사가 무엇인지 늘 고민하고 추진하고 있다”라며 “앞으로도 안전 교육은 물론, 노무·세무·법률 등 복잡한 학원 운영에 실질적인 디딤돌이 될 수 있는 다채로운 역량 강화 프로그램을 마련해 회원들의 권익 증진에 앞장서겠다”고 밝혔다.
