대회 조직위원회는 오는 8월 21일 오후 6시 대구스타디움에서 열리는 개회식 축하콘서트 출연진을 확정했다고 밝혔다.
이번 공연에는 IVE를 비롯해 다영, 김용빈, 손빈아, 전유진, 추혁진, The Wind, 서이브 등이 무대에 올라 다양한 장르의 공연을 선보인다.
특히 K-팝을 대표하는 아이브와 국내 트로트 열풍을 이끌고 있는 인기 가수들이 한자리에 모이면서 국내외 관람객은 물론 참가 선수단의 기대감도 높아지고 있다. 조직위원회는 세대와 국적을 넘어 모두가 함께 즐길 수 있는 문화축제 형식의 공연으로 개회식을 꾸민다는 계획이다.
이번 개회식에는 전 세계 90여 개국에서 참가하는 선수단과 국내외 방문객들이 함께할 예정이며, 조직위는 선수단과 관계자 1만5천여 명, 일반 관람객 2만5천여 명 등 총 4만 명가량이 행사장을 찾을 것으로 전망하고 있다.
국내 참가 선수에게는 축하콘서트 입장권 1매가 우선 제공되며, 해외 참가 선수들은 동반인을 포함해 개회식 행사에 초청된다.
또 국내 선수들의 참가를 독려하기 위해 2만 원 상당의 대구로페이 선불카드와 기념 메달, 공식 유니폼이 제공된다. 하프마라톤과 10㎞ 종목 참가자에게는 2027 대구마라톤 우선 참가 신청 기회가 주어지며, 개회식 선수단 퍼레이드에 참여하는 한국 대표 300명에게는 단복과 참가 혜택도 지원된다.
한편, 2026 대구세계마스터즈육상경기대회는 오는 8월 22일부터 9월 3일까지 개최된다. 대회는 대구스타디움을 비롯해 경산시민운동장, 수성패밀리파크, 신천동로 일원에서 진행되며 트랙 17개 종목, 필드 11개 종목, 로드레이스 6개 종목 등 총 34개 종목이 펼쳐진다.
만 35세 이상이면 국적과 관계없이 누구나 참가할 수 있으며, 참가 신청은 오는 6월 23일까지 접수받는다.
진기훈 조직위원회 사무총장은 “이번 대회가 대구의 문화와 스포츠 역량을 세계에 알리는 중요한 계기가 될 것”이라며 “개회식 축하콘서트를 K-컬처와 스포츠가 어우러진 대표 행사로 만들어 성공적인 대회의 출발을 알리겠다”고 말했다.

In particular, expectations are rising among domestic and international spectators, as well as the participating athletes, as IVE—representing K-pop—comes together with popular singers leading the domestic trot craze. The Organizing Committee plans to curate the opening ceremony as a cultural festival-style performance that everyone can enjoy together, transcending generations and nationalities. In addition, to encourage domestic participation, a Daegu LoPay prepaid card worth 20,000 won, a commemorative medal, and an official uniform will be provided. Participants in the Half Marathon and 10km events will be given priority registration opportunities for the 2027 Daegu Marathon, and the 300 Korean representatives participating in the opening ceremony parade will be provided with uniforms and participation benefits.
Meanwhile, the 2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships will be held from August 22 to September 3. The competition will be held at Daegu Stadium, Gyeongsan Citizens' Stadium, Suseong Family Park, and the Sincheon-dong-ro area, featuring a total of 34 events, including 17 track events, 11 field events, and 6 road race events.
Anyone aged 35 or older can participate regardless of nationality, and applications will be accepted until June 23.
