수원특례시청이 실업팀 최강이자 사실상 준프로 팀임을 여실히 증명했다.
수원특례시청은 지난 16일 열린 '2026 한국실업배구연맹&프로배구 퓨처스 챔프전 단양 대회' 결승전에서 V리그 프로팀 현대건설을 세트 스코어 3-0(25-23 25-20 25-20)으로 완파하고 우승컵을 들어올렸다.
지난해에 처음 열린 '퓨처스 챔프전'은 올해로 2회째다. V리그 프로팀과 실업팀이 모두 출전하는 대회다. 다만, 프로팀은 1.5~2군 선수들이 출전한다. V리그에서 출전 경험이 적은 선수들에게 실전 경험을 쌓게 해주기 위해서다.
또한 여자배구 '대표팀 롱 리스트(Long List)'에 포함된 선수 33명은 국제배구연맹(FIVB) 규정상 국가대표팀 시즌 기간에 열리는 클럽 대회에는 출전할 수 없다.
그럼에도 실업팀인 수원특례시청이 프로팀들을 줄줄이 꺾고 우승을 차지한 건 이변이라고 할 수 있다. 프로팀과 실업팀은 지원 규모, 각종 시설, 연봉 등 모든 면에서 큰 차이가 있기 때문이다. 이번 대회 전까지만 해도 실업팀이 우승을 하리라는 예상은 거의 없었다.

그러나 수원특례시청은 이번 대회에서 프로팀 1군과 실업팀 중간 지점, 즉 준프로 팀의 위력을 유감없이 증명했다. 조별 리그 A조에서 3승 1패를 기록하며, 프로팀 IBK기업은행(4승)에 이어 조 2위로 준결승에 진출했다.
준결승, 결승에서는 더욱 탄탄한 경기력을 선보였다. 준결승에서 올 시즌 V리그 우승팀인 GS칼텍스를 3-0으로 완파했고, 결승에서도 A조 1위 IBK기업은행을 꺾고 올라온 현대건설을 또다시 3-0으로 완파했다.
수원특례시청은 지난해 열린 퓨처스 챔프전 1회 대회에서는 아깝게 준결승 진출에 실패했다. 조별 리그 B조에서 프로팀인 현대건설, 정관장을 격파하면서 3승 2패로 3위를 차지했다. 2위 현대건설과 3승 2패로 동률을 기록했으나 점수득실률 등에서 밀렸다. 그러나 올해는 대회 2회째 만에 '실업팀이 첫 우승'이라는 기록을 썼다.
이번 대회에서 수원특례시청의 주전 멤버는 아웃사이드 히터 포지션에 백채림(173cm·전 한국도로공사), 고민지(173cm·전 현대건설), 아포짓에 윤영인(178cm·프로팀 경력 무)이 윙 공격수로 뛰었다.
