민형배 당선인은 17일 오전 광주 북구 오룡동 AI 산업융합집적단지에서 열린 재정경제부 현장 방문 일정에 참석했다. 이번 방문은 전남광주의 주력산업 현황을 점검하고 AI, 자율주행, 모빌리티 등 첨단 미래 산업 분야 기업들의 애로사항과 정책 건의를 청취하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 민 당선인과 구 부총리는 AI데이터센터와 실증·창업 인프라를 차례로 둘러본 뒤, 지역 기업인 및 전문가들과 함께 첨단산업 육성 방안을 심도 있게 논의했다.
민 당선인은 환영사를 통해 “구 부총리께서 국정으로 매우 바쁜 시기임에도 지역의 미래 산업 현장을 찾아주셨다”며 “전남광주를 ‘AI 심장부·메카·글로벌센터’로 꼽아주시며, 5극 3특 선도모델로서의 통합특별시에 대한 기대를 분명히 해주셨다”고 감사를 표했다.
이어 “대체 불가한 대한민국 건설의 출발이 전남광주통합특별시에서 시작된다는 부총리의 말씀에는 정부가 제대로 뒷받침하겠다는 의지가 담겨 있다고 생각한다”고 강조했다.
