대전 서구가 주민들의 탄소중립 실천으로 마련된 인센티브를 지역 사회복지 기관에 기부하며 따뜻한 나눔을 실천했다. 서구는 탄소중립포인트제 기부 참여자들의 인센티브 총 3,045만 원을 대전사회복지공동모금회에 기탁했다고 10일 밝혔다.
이번 기탁금은 지난 2025년 하반기 탄소중립포인트제에 동참해 자발적으로 에너지를 절약하고, 발생한 인센티브를 사회에 환원하기로 뜻을 모은 지역 내 2,285세대의 동참으로 마련됐다. 전달된 성금은 서구자원봉사협의회와 서구지역사회보장협의체를 거쳐 관내 취약계층을 위한 맞춤형 지원 사업에 소중히 사용될 예정이다.
정부 주도로 시행 중인 탄소중립포인트제는 기후위기 대응의 일환으로 전기, 상수도, 도시가스 등 가정 내 에너지 사용 감축률을 평가해 상·하반기 두 차례 인센티브를 지급하는 온실가스 감축 실천 프로그램이다. 현재 대전 서구에서는 총 45,890세대가 가입해 일상 속 환경 보호에 앞장서고 있다.
