거칠게 일렁이는 서해의 물결도 실종된 동료를 찾으려는 간절한 염원을 끝내 틔워내지 못했다.
태안해양경찰서는 11일 오전 10시 22분경, 태안군 고남면 구매항 인근 가두리 양식장에서 그물 보수 작업 중 실종됐던 잠수사 A씨(50대·남성)를 사고 지점 인근 수중에서 숨진 채 발견했다고 밝혔다.
지난 10일 낮 12시 44분경 실종 신고가 접수된 지 약 22시간 만이다.
사고는 전날 오전 11시경 발생했다. A씨는 동료 잠수사와 함께 가두리 양식장에서 망줄(그물 보수) 작업을 위해 입수했으나, 작업 종료 후에도 물 밖으로 나오지 않았다.
동료 잠수사가 자체 수색을 벌였으나 행방을 찾지 못해 해경에 도움을 요청했고, 태안해경은 즉시 영목파출소와 경비함정, 태안구조대 등 가용한 모든 구조 세력을 현장에 급파했다.

태안해경은 인양된 A씨의 시신을 태안의료원으로 이송하는 한편, 동료 잠수사와 양식장 관계자 등을 상대로 정확한 사고 경위를 조사하고 있다.
