봄기운이 완연한 국립세종수목원이 아이들의 웃음소리와 가족들의 온기로 가득 찼다.
세종특별자치시교육청교육원(원장 소은주, 이하 세종교육원) 유아교육부는 11일, 만 3~5세 자녀를 둔 10가족이 참여한 가운데 ‘함께피는 가족정원’ 토요 가족체험의 첫 문을 열었다.
이번 프로그램은 단순한 나들이를 넘어 유아의 생태감수성을 깨우고 가족 간의 정서적 유대를 다지는 밀착형 교육의 장으로 마련됐다.
‘함께피는 가족정원’은 평소 체험 기회가 적은 취약계층 유아 가족을 우선적으로 선발해 정책적 배려를 더했다.
국립세종수목원의 풍부한 인프라를 활용해 도심 속 아이들이 자연의 가치를 몸소 체험하고 창의성을 발휘하도록 돕는 것이 핵심이다.
프로그램은 상반기(4~6월)와 하반기(9~10월) 매월 둘째·넷째 토요일에 진행되며, 실내 프로그램도 병행해 날씨와 상관없이 안정적인 체험이 가능하다.
특히 눈길을 끄는 대목은 남성 보호자 특화 프로그램이다. 세종교육원은 오는 5월, 아빠들의 육아 참여를 독려하고 양성평등한 양육 문화를 확산하기 위해 남성 양육자 중심의 특별 세션을 별도로 운영한다.
참여 가족에게는 체험비 전액 지원은 물론, 활동 후 수목원 내에서 식사할 수 있는 쿠폰을 제공해 가족 소통의 시간이 자연스럽게 이어지도록 세심하게 배려했다.
이날 체험에 나선 가족들은 ‘향기체험 대작전’을 통해 수목원 곳곳을 누비며 OX 퀴즈를 풀고 사계절 전시온실을 탐방했다.
또한 허브식물 가족 화분을 직접 만들며 식물의 생명력을 손끝으로 익히기도 했다.
