제9회 전국동시지방선거를 두 달 앞둔 대전의 민심이 요동치고 있다.
조국혁신당은 10일 대전 유성문화원에서 조국 당대표와 신장식 수석 최고위원, 황운하 대전시당위원장을 비롯한 주요 출마자 및 지지자들이 대거 결집한 가운데 ‘6.3 지방선거 대전·세종 필승 결의대회’를 개최했다.
이번 대회는 혁신당이 충청권 지방정치 무대에 본격적으로 깃발을 꽂는 신호탄이 됐다.
조국 대표는 이날 기조연설에서 이번 지방선거의 지상 과제로 ‘국민의힘 제로’와 ‘부패 제로’라는 두 가지 핵심 목표를 제시했다.
조 대표는 "극우 내란 정치 세력인 국민의힘을 지역 정치권에서 완전히 퇴출해야 한다"고 주장하며, "돈 공천으로 얼룩진 해묵은 선거 비리를 뿌리 뽑는 부패 제로 정치를 대전과 세종에서부터 실현하겠다"고 강조했다.
특히 조 대표는 본인의 거취와 관련해 "당의 존재감을 확실히 각인시킬 수 있다면 대전과 세종 어디든 험지 출마를 마다하지 않겠다"고 밝히며 배수진을 쳤다.

황 의원은 "민주당과 혁신당의 분열이 국민의힘 후보의 어부지리 당선으로 이어진다면 양당 모두 역사의 죄인이 될 것"이라며 경고의 메시지를 던졌다.
이어 "민주당 세종시장 후보가 확정되는 16일 이전에 반드시 단일화에 대한 분명한 의지를 표명해야 한다"며 민주당을 향해 최후통첩에 가까운 단일화 결단을 촉구했다.
조국혁신당은 이날 결의대회를 기점으로 대전과 세종 지역 선거 체제로 전격 전환했다.
세종시장 후보인 황운하 의원을 필두로 대전 지역 기초단체장과 광역·기초의원 후보들이 대거 이름을 올리며 전열을 정비했다.
