경주시에 따르면 한국지역신문협회 경북협의회가 수여하는 이번 시상은 행정, 의정, 사회공헌 등 다양한 분야에서 우수한 성과를 이룬 인물을 선정해 시상하는 상이다.
주 시장은 소형모듈원자로(SMR) 국가산업단지 유치,차세대 첨단과학 혁신도시 조성, APEC 정상회의 유치 도전, 도심 관광·상권 활성화 등의 공로를 인정받았다.
2025년 준공 예정인 문무대왕과학연구소와 함께 ‘서플라이 체인(Supply Chain)’을 구축해 SMR 수출시장을 선점할 소형모듈원자로(SMR) 국가산업단지 유치를높이 평가했다.
여기에 차세대 첨단과학 혁신도서 조성을 위해 지난 3년간 900억 규모의 산업부 공모사업에 차량용 첨단소재 성형가공 센터, 탄소 소재 부품 리사이클링 센터, e-모빌리티 배터리 통합관제 허브 센터 등 3개가 선정돼 내년 10월까지 차례로 완공되는 점이 큰 호평을 얻었다.
