고양소방서 119구조대 박준흠 소방장이 휴일에도 쉬지 않는 소방관의 직업정신으로 국민의 소중한 생명을 보호한 공로를 인정받아 '2023년 생명존중대상' 수상자로 선정됐다고 15일 밝혔다.

생명존중대상은 (재)생명보험사회공헌재단에서 위험을 무릅쓰고 타인의 생명을 구해 생명존중가치 확산에 탁월한 공적이 있는 공무원(해양경찰·경찰·소방 등)과 일반인을 대상으로 선발해 시상한다.
올해는 총 15명(해경 3명, 경찰 4명, 소방 3명, 일반인 5명)이 수상했다.
박준흠 소방장은 8월 27일 비번날 북한산 산행 중 낙상으로 다리를 다친 20대 여성을 발견해 119에 신고해 헬기를 요청하고, 직접 업어서 헬기인계지점까지 약 100m의 가파른 길을 등반해 소방헬기를 유도하고 무사히 인계했다.
또 지난 1월 1일에는 북한산 정상 백운대에서 저체온증에 의해 의식이 없는 20대 여성을 응급처치 후 헬기를 통해 무사히 이송했다.
