김희선, 송재성, 송재진, 신현대 4인 화가들이 펼치는 다양한 감성의 전시 ‘겨울연가’ 전이 서울 종로구 인사동에 소재한 HEE 갤러리(관장 전미희)에서 12월 4일 오픈되어 오는 30일까지 열린다.
출판사와 갤러리를 함께 운영하는 인문학적 소양이 뛰어난 전미희 관장이 운영하는 HEE 갤러리는 인사동 라이온스 회관 옆 골목에 동화처럼 정겨운 복층 갤러리이다. 깊은 사유의 감성이 특유의 커피 내음에 오롯하게 배어있다.
중앙대학교 예술대학에서 서양화를 전공하고 안동여자중학교 미술 교사로 재직하고 있는 김희선 작가는 삶에서 건져 올린 감성적인 미학의 ‘나담기’ 시리즈 작품 5점을 선보였다.
많은 계획과 순간의 선택이 교차하는 삶 속에서 치열하게 부대끼는 스스로를 작품의 화자로 담아낸 깊은 성찰의 감성이 흥건하다. 특히 복합성과 다중성이 혼재하는 현대사회의 단면을 어떤 대상과 영향을 주고받는 인터랙션적 표현으로 승화시킨 구성은 절묘하다. 이는 삶의 소통을 중시한 의지이다.

김희선 작가의 ‘나담기’는 스스로 담아내는 일차적 단순함이 아닌 '나누어 담는다'라는 깊은 사유의 감성을 품고 있음을 헤아리게 한다. 깊은 이해와 공감의 소통을 통한 개인과 사회의 희망을 메시지로 담아낸 의식이다.
충북대학교 사범대학 미술교육과를 졸업한 송재성 작가는 간결하면서도 깊은 감성이 돋보이는 장미와 매화, 코스모스 작품을 선보였다. 한지에 분채로 그려낸 작가의 작품은 은유적이면서도 깊은 울림이 흠씬한 동양화 재료의 특성이 두드러진다. 특히 작가의 작품 장미에서 윤곽선을 중시한 전통적인 구륵법을 현대적 감성으로 추스른 표현은 절창의 느낌이다.
작가의 작품 장미는 인간의 열정을 은유적으로 담아낸 동양적 서정의 감성이 간결한 조형 어법으로 한층 빛나고 있다.

송재진 화가는 숲 시리즈 수채화 작품 5점을 선보였다. 작가의 작품은 자연의 감성이 동양적 서정의 품에 안겨있는 특성을 담고 있다. 작가의 작품에 표현된 중심은 자연의 교감이다.
가지를 엮어낸 무성한 숲이거나, 들꽃 어우러진 꽃 숲의 풍경 속에서 그림자가 품은 교감의 미학이 특성적인 감성을 담아내고 있다. 작가의 그림 속 숲은 자연과 인간의 조화를 통한 아름다움을 동양의 사색적 관점에서 헤아린 느낌이 충만하다. '정(靜)'과 '동(動)'의 조화를 상징적으로 나타내고 있는 작가의 서정성은 번잡한 삶을 정화하는 정신적인 순례를 가능하게 한다.
특히 투명성과 투과성이 특성인 수채화의 기능에 작가의 독특한 감성이 인상적이다. 이는 물감을 색상 팔레트에 직접 섞어 사용하는 수채화의 재료적 특성에서 얻게 되는 복합적인 효과에 뛰어난 느낌이 감지된다.

홍익대에서 동양화를 전공한 신현대 화가는 한국화단에 익히 알려진 중견 화가이다. 작가는 캔버스와 나무판과 유화 전용지 아르쉬에 이르는 다양한 재료에 작업한 작품 6점을 선보였다.
작가의 작품을 오랫동안 보아온 필자는 인사동 작은 갤러리에 걸린 작가의 작품을 바라보며 많은 생각을 매만졌다.
섬세한 감성을 가지고 있는 신현대 작가의 작품은 언제나 사유의 감성이 절절한 작가였다. 소품으로 그려진 전시 작품은 생명을 품은 나무의 형태 속에
풍화된 사유를 추상으로 품고 있다.
강인한 생명력을 고요함으로 잠재운 형태 속에서 자연의 흥취를 전통 오방색으로 추스른 의식이 깊숙하게 다가왔다. 관람자의 몫으로 은유한 가지와 줄기를 헤아리면 누구나 비켜 갈 수 없는 삶의 여정이 펼쳐져 있다.
오방색 흥건한 빛깔로 흔들리는 가지는 저마다의 가슴 속에 자유롭게 뻗어있고 깊숙이 묻혀 있는 뿌리를 캐면 풍화의 세월이 펄럭인다. artwww@naver.com
