【브레이크뉴스 포항】박희경 기자=포항해양경찰서(서장 성대훈)는 지난 19일 연말 해안경계태세 확립을 위해 미식별 선박 침투 훈련을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 훈련은 국정원·해병대1사단·국군방첩부대가 참여하여 구룡포 인근 해상에서 미식별 선박이 육지로 접근하고 있는 상황을 가정한 관계기관합동훈련으로 실시됐다.
최근 보령 중국인 밀입국·속초 북한주민 귀순 상황 발생 시 해양경찰과 군이 협력하여 안보 위협을 신속히 사전 차단한 사례가 있다. 이는 포항에서도 발생 가능한 상황이므로 유관기관과 대응능력을 높이기 위해 추진했다.
성대훈 서장은 “이번 합동훈련을 통해 국가중요시설이 산재한 포항지역의 해양안보와 안전상태를 점검했다”며 “앞으로도 각 기관과의 철저한공조를 통해 빈틈없는 해안경계태세를 유지하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
한편 포항해양경찰서는 이날 침수중인 선박을 민간해양구조선과 합동으로 구조했다.
오전 10시 16경 칠포 동방 약 4km 해상에서 어선 A호(9톤급, 3명)가 기관실이 침수 중이라는 신고를 접수한 영일만파출소는 연안구조정을 즉시 출동시키고 인근에서 조업 중인 민간해양구조선 B호(24톤, 4명)에도 협조요청을 했다.

영일만파출소 연안구조정이 도착했을 때 A호선장 C씨(남성, 60대)는 “기관실에 물이 차고 있어서 언제 엔진이 꺼질지 모르겠다. 예인을 해 달라.”고 요청했다.
이에 줄을 연결하고 예인을 시작했다. 하지만 9톤급 어선의 무게를 이기지 못해 줄이 끊어졌다. 다행히 민간해양구조선B호가 곧바로 현장에 도착해 A호를 B호의 선체 왼쪽에 계류시킨 채로 예인해 용한항으로 입항했다.
입항 후 영일만파출소, 민간해양구조선 B호 뿐만 아니라 뒤이어 도착한 108정이 보유한 펌프까지 총 3대를 동원해 배수작업을 진행했다. 들어찬 물은 점차 줄어들어 A호는 안정을 되찾았다.
A호 선장 C씨는 “배수가 다 된 후에 기관실을 살펴보니 냉각수 파이프에손상이 생겨서 바닷물이 들어온 거 같다.”고 말했다.
